1. Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort

The Anantara Vilamoura Resort is the place to stay if you’re looking for celebrity-class treatment. As soon as you walk into the lobby you’re greeted with Mediterranean retreat-style decor.

The best part is being within walking distance to Falésia Beach and a 10-minute drive to the Vilamoura Marina. They even offer a free shuttle service that takes you out to their complimentary sun loungers to spend the day at the water getting your tan on.

On the days you’re not feeling the beach, you can easily enjoy a pool day at their swimming pools or spend the day getting physical by hitting up their tennis courts or golf course.

If you’re traveling with a family, there are plenty of kid-friendly and adult-only options to keep everyone entertained.

You don’t need to worry about food because they have 3 different restaurants and 3 different bars all on-site. For contemporary Portuguese cuisine and incredible wine options, you have to try the Emo Restaurant.

For all your breakfast and dinner options on the go enjoy the delicious meals at the Victoria Restaurant. They also offer a unique dining experience called Dine Around that serves various gastronomic options.

Lastly, you have to take advantage of their spa that offers amazing Thai and Algarvian inspired treatments. When you’re done, you can soak in their private pool and jacuzzi.

2. Pine Cliffs, a Luxury Collection Resort

The Pine Cliffs Hotel is another great option for your holidays and is known for being a five-star cliff-top retreat located right above the famous Praia da Falésia beach. As far as Algarve luxury hotels go, this one gets recommended a lot!

Staying here means being surrounded by stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean—it’s breathtaking. The architecture here is inspired by the Portuguese Moorish traditions, so you’ll find lots of arches, murals, and detailed hand-painted tiles.

The rooms and suites here are equally as stunning as the architecture. Each room has a private balcony with views of the Algarve’s red cliffs that overlook the ocean and the beautiful gardens.

I recommend booking one of the Pine Cliffs ocean view guest rooms or the Pine Cliffs ocean suites for some of the most gorgeous sunsets and sunrises.

For dining, there are so many options here that serve fresh, local, and international ingredients. You’ll have 9 restaurants to choose from and 2 bars—be sure to check availability beforehand to make sure you get a reservation.

The spa here is huge with so many luxurious amenities. Their indoor hydro pool is stunning that I could see myself relaxing there all day long.

For activities, you can enjoy biking, kayaking, snorkeling, water-skiing, surfing, and the list goes on. There’s so much to do here, you’ll never want your trip to end.

3. Martinhal Beach Resort

The Martinhal Beach Resort is located in Sagres in the Algarve Portugal region. This entire resort overlooks the ocean giving you stunning sunrises and sunsets.

I’m obsessed with boutique-style rooms and villas that have private balconies and terraces. Imagine sipping on your morning cup of coffee with the waves crashing in the background and ocean mist blowing in your face.

There are 5 swimming pools around the resort with the main pool being my favorite because it’s designed with a wooden deck—so aesthetic. It also overlooks the Beach Club Garden with a bar right there making it easy to spend all day at the pool.

There are plenty of activities to do around the resort that are fun for everyone. You can plan a beach day or enjoy the artificial grass tennis courts.

For restaurants, you have 3 options that offer fine dining, seafood, and Italian options. There are also 4 bars to enjoy fun cocktails.

This resort makes the perfect location for a couples trip because of where it’s located and the stunning views.

They also offer flexible rates with free cancellation options to make planning easier.

4. Vila Vita Parc Resort and Spa

The Vila Vita Parc Resort feels like the perfect balance between the traditional Portuguese Moorish style and tropical style. This resort is also set on a cliff leaving you surrounded by gorgeous ocean views.

Most of the rooms here are designed with a balcony or terrace that overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. The decor is luxurious while still cozy.

I highly recommend booking one of their villas if you’re traveling with a larger group so you can have the space and privacy. The villas come fully stacked with their own infinity pools, ocean-view terraces, and their own gardens.

For restaurants, you’re stacked with so many options to choose from—10 restaurants to be exact. For drinks, you can enjoy the 6 different bars they offer.

They offer so many activities—you can explore their full brochure here. I would love to take one of their culinary classes, especially the bread-making one or the cocktail mixing one.

When you’re looking for some vitamin D, take advantage of the secluded sandy beach just a few steps away from the resort. They have a ton of lounge chairs set up to bring you the most enjoyable experience on the beach.

Their infinity pool overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and it’s so so beautiful—definitely an Instagrammable spot.

5. Praia Verde Boutique Hotel

Praia Verde Boutique Hotel is another favorite located in the heart of Eastern Algarve. Staying here means being surrounded by a dense pine forest and ocean views.

There are 23 rooms with stunning sea views and 42 suites with panoramic garden views. The suites here are fully equipped with a kitchenette, separate living room, and a balcony—the most luxurious home away from home.

For dining, enjoy their amazing restaurant À Terra where they make everything in a wood fire, clay pots, or iron. All of the produce comes from their local garden or local farmers.

Take advantage of trying traditional Algarve dishes with flavor bombs of figs, oranges, lemons, olives, cheeses, and sweets. Experience flavors from the south of Portugal.

When you’re ready to explore, be sure to make time to visit the plant to see how to they make salt flowers—it’s so cool. For swimming and sunbathing, spend the day at Fábrica Beach with the clear waters and being right across from the Ria Formosa Natural Park.

Staying here means you’ll get the perfect balance between nature and luxury.

6. Conrad Algarve

The Conrad Algarve is a 5-star luxury resort located in Quinta do Lago. As soon as you step through the front doors, you’re hit with Mediterranean decor and countryside aesthetics—it’s absolutely stunning. Staying here is so luxurious and makes me feel like I should enjoy one of the most expensive champagnes in the world while I’m lounging by the pool.

Almost every room has a balcony that overlooks the palm and the pools. The rooms are decorated with a modern contemporary design and marble features throughout.

There are 3 restaurants and 3 bars to try during your stay. I highly recommend trying Gusto by Heinz Beck where they serve contemporary Mediterranean cuisine made by the 3 Michelin-starred Chef.

For drinks, it’s recommended to grab a cocktail at the Lago Lounge. The lounge has a very contemporary style to it with a terrace overlooking the gardens and pools of the property.

If you’re looking for ways to unwind during your holiday, book an appointment at the Conrad Algarve’s spa that includes a relaxing sauna and an indoor pool. They have so many unique experiences for you to try from oxygen infusion and inhalation therapies, ice fountains, and so much more.

The Vila Monte Farm House brings a different kind of experience to your holiday. Stay at this stunning boho-chic farmhouse that gives you a look into the Algarve lifestyle.

There are so many rooms and suites to stay in but the Villa Indigo is the place I would want to stay especially if I was traveling in a group. The Villa Indigo is a private house with 3 suites, a private swimming pool, solarium, a balcony, and gardens.

For food, you can enjoy the 2 restaurants on-site, the À Terra Restaurant and the Laranjal Restaurant. They both serve Algarvian traditional food full of aromatic spices and fruits.

10. Bela Vista Hotel & Spa

The Bela Vista is another super cute boutique-style hotel that’s in a historical building. The architecture and decorations are a blend between vintage and modern.

The history behind the Bela Vista is super interesting. It was originally built as a private home of António Júdice de Magalhães Barros, a local fishing and canning industry businessman—it would later be converted into a hotel.

The rooms are decorated with a marine theme and have balconies overlooking stunning views of the ocean.

Enjoy dinner outside on the terrace of the Michelin Star Vista restaurant. The menu has staple Algarvean and Portuguese food that is complemented with their wine list.

For days that you’re looking for adventure, head down to the beach and spend the day swimming. They even offer bike rentals to spend the day exploring the local city.

It’s so beautiful here, you’ll love your stay.

Those were all my favorite Algarve luxury hotels. I hope you found this list helpful and that it convinced you to plan your next trip to Portugal!
