Writing up this Airbnb Porto guide has me missing this beautiful city so much!

If you’ve decided to take a trip to Portugal’s famous city of Porto, yay! I highly recommend staying at one of these charming Airbnbs in Porto for however long you choose to explore this lovely destination!

Porto is a UNESCO world heritage site best known for its cultural attractions and port wine production. It’s referred to as Portugal’s “second city,” but there’s nothing second-rate about it.

Overflowing with history and culture and just the right mix of hip and modern, Porto is one of those destinations where staying at private vacation rentals is the best way to get the most authentic experience.

I have lots more Porto content in the works—from travel guides to best restaurant recs—but thought I’d kick off with an Airbnb Porto list.

There are so many Airbnb options to accommodate your taste and budget—whether you’re traveling solo, in a group, or as a couple. To help you narrow down your options, here’s my list of the top Airbnb Porto places to book for your holiday.

1. Premium Loft in the Heart of the Historic Center

The best way to experience Porto is on foot, so you’re going to love how centrally located this classy loft is! The cool part is that if you’re not out and about exploring, you’ll get a killer view of the iconic Luis I Bridge right from your window.

The furniture and art of the place give it that refined, old-world feel, while the renovated space and modern amenities make for a comfortable stay.

It’s an open space that can be separated by curtains, so you can have it as wide open or as sectioned off as you’d please.

If you’re traveling as a couple or solo, there’s a sleeping area with a comfy double bed. As there are more people in your party, there are two more single beds in a bunk area so that you can comfortably sleep up to four.

Up to 4 guests //studio // 3 beds // 1 bath. Prices from $35 per night. Check pricing and dates here.

2. Private Penthouse Apartment with a View

If sipping on a glass of wine on your own private rooftop terrace with a stunning city view is your idea of the perfect holiday stay, then this is your spot!

The entire rental unit is located on the top floor of a renovated home from 1893 in Santa Marinha, a historical Porto neighborhood known as home to the famous Porto Wine Caves.

You’ll enjoy private access via the garden to your own apartment space that features a full kitchen, a private room with a double bed, and two terraces.

There’s only room to sleep two, so it’s perfect for a romantic getaway. Or if you’re a solo traveler, treat yourself to beautiful views of the city and enjoy it all for yourself. Cheers to that!

2 guests //1 bedroom //1 bed // 1 bath. Prices from $95 per night. Check pricing and dates here.

3. Beautifully Renovated Apartment in Old Town

This recently renovated apartment gets rave reviews for its super-friendly host, location, and view. You’ll be in the middle of the old town Porto action here with several bars and restaurants just a short walk away and only a 10-minute walk to reach the riverfront.

Inside, you have everything you need with all its modern amenities, including central air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a dishwasher. You’ll enjoy a beautiful view from the private balcony overlooking Porto’s Clérigos Tower and nearby Aliados square.

You’ll get plenty of rest after a day of sightseeing in the queen-sized bed which also provides an awesome view from the large bedroom windows. If you’re traveling in a party of more than one or two, there’s a sofa bed in the living room for a third guest to also sleep comfortably.

4. Modern Downtown Studio

If you’re looking for a modern, clean place to stay in the center of Porto, you’ll love this bright little studio apartment. Its large windows make for a chic, light-filled interior that you’ll want to call home.

Despite its small space, it’s got everything needed for a comfortable stay. This studio has a double bed, kitchen with washing machine, fridge, coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, and a living area with a small balcony—what more could you need?

Location-wise, you’ll be set here. All the major attractions are within walking distance, including the Luis I Bridge, Porto Cathedral, bars, restaurants, and more. This place is super cute and super convenient!

5. Stylish 1-Bedroom Apartment in the City Center

This chic apartment is awesome! I just love the exposed stoned walls and beam ceiling that gives it that cool, rustic/contemporary feel.

It’s perfect for a group of over one to two people because it has one bedroom with a double bed and a double sofa bed in the living room. There’s also one full-size bathroom and another small bathroom which is a nice perk for multiple guests.

The apartment is located just around the block from São Bento station, so it’s close to everything. You’ll easily be able to walk to all the major sights downtown and explore the center’s many shops and restaurants.

4 guests // 1 bedroom //1 bed // 1.5 baths. Prices from $53 per night. Check pricing and dates here.

6. Studio with Gorgeous River-View Terrace

Oh, the view! The oversized private terrace with panoramic views of the Douro river and bridge will make every minute spent here feel special. You’ll find cushioned outdoor furniture where you can just sit, relax, and take it all in. Awesome, right?

The indoor studio space is modern and spacious with all the necessary amenities. There’s a double bed and a double pull-out sofa that make the space work for up to four guests.

This studio was converted from a section of an old family house built at the end of the 18th century. The street itself is in an old part of the city along a charming path that’s part of a network of preserved historic paths.

It’s a steep walk into the downtown Porto district but totally doable. If that feels like a bit too much, you can also take the tram or short taxi or Uber ride into town. It’s a great option if you want to be close but away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

4 guests // studio //1 bed // 1 bath. Prices from $74 per night. Check pricing and dates here.

7. 19th-Century Home in the Center of Porto

If you need (or just want) more space, this beautiful two-bedroom home is the way to go. It’s a totally renovated house that was built in the 19th century and has it all, including an ideal central location and amazing river and city views.

It’s located in the zone of the famous ‘Barredo’ stairs which is a charming preserved old path that was, for centuries, one of the few routes that connected the Cathedral and the riverside.

This house itself has three floors. You’ll find a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom on the first floor.

On the second floor, there’s a large living room with a sofa bed, TV, and romantic river view. Meanwhile, you’ll find the master bedroom with a private bathroom, and the second bedroom with a small bathroom on the third floor — also with a river view.

5 guests // 2 bedrooms // 2 beds // 2.5 baths. Prices from $70 per night. Check pricing and dates here.

Ultra-modern and hip, you’ll love having this fully-renovated entire loft to yourself in downtown Porto. The master bedroom is upstairs with floor-to-ceiling windows that give a cool open view of the living space downstairs.

There are also two bathrooms, a full bathroom with a shower upstairs, and small one downstairs. Oh, and there’s a washing machine too!

The downstairs is a well-lit, open living space with a sofa bed, full kitchen, and large dining table that fits up to six people — in case you decide you want to stay in and host a dinner party!

Traveling with a large group? Then you’ll appreciate having a spacious private villa with five bedrooms that comfortably sleeps up to 10 people.

How does your own private heated pool and Jacuzzi sound? You’ll also have a barbecue and outdoor garden just for you and your crew to use.

The center of the city is just 10 minutes away, in case you want to go out and explore Porto. Although with all those cool amenities, don’t be surprised if you spend a lot of time at home! Between the private pool, privacy, and ample space, your group will be happy here.
