Today I’m sharing the best air purifier and humidifier combos that you need to add to your space. I don’t know about you, but I’ve definitely struggled with allergies and dry skin—trust me when I tell you getting an air purifier and humidifier will change your life.
And sadly, with fire season becoming an annual thing in California and many other parts of the country, having an air purifier on-hand has become essential.
If you’re skeptical about getting either an air purifier or humidifier, don’t worry I’ve got you covered by giving you the full breakdown on how it works and why you need them.
How does an Air Purifier work?
An air purifier is designed to eliminate and reduce pollutants in the air like dust, smoke, pollen, mold, VOC, and any other allergens that may be present in the air. It does this by having a built-in fan and filter.
The filters will capture any pollutants floating around and after capturing the pollutants, it pushes out clean air, making it better for you to inhale. Together the fan and filter work to promote better air quality.
There are a few filters out there, but the most common one you’ll find in most air purifiers is HEPA filters. HEPA filters are super cool because they catch pollutants and particles that are more than 100 times smaller than human hair—isn’t that crazy?
The other filter you might find is an activated charcoal filter that absorbs any odor-based pollutants. This type of filter works really well paired with a HEPA filter.
I would highly recommend looking into an air purifier that has both of these filters or a special patent filter that can do it all without any assistance.
How does a Humidifier work?
Humidifiers work a little differently by raising the humidity levels in your space to prevent any pollutants in the air—especially when the air is drier. You might want a humidifier in the wintertime or whenever the air feels stale. A humidifier works with your quiet window ac to provide optimum comfort levels.
There are also 4 different types of humidifiers:
- Evaporative
- Steam
- Ultrasonic
- Impeller
Depending on your needs, you may want to explore these different humidifier options. Don’t forget to clean your humidifiers!
Now let’s get into my top picks to add to your home.
10 Best Air Purifier and Humidifier
1. Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool Formaldehyde
I had to start off with the Dyson air purifier humidifier combo because it’s really one of the best machines on the market. I’m also in love with the white and gold design because it’s so aesthetic. ✨
It automatically senses, captures, and traps pollutants to promote cleaner air. The Dyson has an advanced air purification system and a solid-state formaldehyde sensor designed with a catalytic filter that continuously destroys formaldehyde—it’s so cool.
You’ll also find an activated carbon filter that removes any gases or odors from the air. On top of that, there’s a true HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of particles (hello clean air).
You don’t have to worry about bacteria in your water tank because the Dyson has Ultraviolet technology that removes 99.9% of bacteria.
Thes best part is the Powerful Multiplier technology that disperses the purified and humidified air throughout your entire room. I know the price on this piece is definitely a splurge, but I personally think it’s worth it for the humidifier air purifier combo.
2. Molekule Air Mini+
Molekule is a really cool company that recently has been on my radar. They developed this unique patented system called PECO that uses a photoelectrochemical oxidation process—meaning that it destroys pollutants on a molecular level.
The only downside is that their products can be on the pricier side, which is why I think the Air Mini+ is the best option in terms of value.
The Air Mini+ can purify the air up to 250 square feet, has a particle sensor with auto protection, it’s whisper-quiet, and are ozone-free.
The auto protection is my favorite part because it can auto-adjust the fan speed based on the sensor’s detection of the air quality. It also connects to an app so you can actively see the air quality status.
You can also enjoy the convenience of the mini being small enough to carry from room to room. Although Molekule products do not have a humidifier, they’re so worth the investment because of the advanced science-backed technology.
3. Medify Air MA-14 Air Purifier
The Medify Air MA-14 Air Purifier (2-pack) is so worth it for the price because you’re getting 2 air purifiers at a discounted price of $163.99. I love how compact yet powerful this little machine is—this machine works best for smaller spaces.
It has a cute night light and a sleep mode feature that’s perfect for cleaning the air while you’re resting. It can clean up to 200 square feet in 30 minutes while removing 99.9% of harmful toxins including allergens, odors, VOCs, smoke, pollen, pet dander, dust, smog, and contaminants.
With true HEPA filters and 3 layers of filtration, it will capture up to 99.9% of particles down to 0.1 microns—that’s some really clean air. If you have a baby these little air purifiers would work amazing in a nursery.
Bring peace of mind by adding some of these Medify mini air purifiers to every room in your house for the cleanest air quality.
4. Canopy Humidifier with Aroma +Filter
I’m sooo obsessed with the Canopy Humidifier because of the adorable color varieties and the aroma feature to add in any essential oil scents. I love that Canopy promotes healthier skin and alleviates symptoms of cold and flu with its modern design.
It can hydrate a room up to 500 square feet and has a 2.5-liter tank that can run up to 36 hours. The sensors maintain optimal moisture day and night.
With the smart persistent airflow feature, you don’t have to worry about mold because the smart sensors know when to keep running until it’s completely dry inside. The water also passes through a UV light to prevent any bacteria from entering the air.
I had no idea I could promote my skin barrier and the absorbency of skincare products until I got a humidifier.
5. Brondell O2+ Revive TrueHEPA Air Purifier Humidifier
Brondell is another one of the best air purifier humidifier combos on the market. The O2+ Revive is made with a premium true HEPA air purifier and has a unique humidifier that adds moisture to the filtered air coming out to alleviate any symptoms.
With all of that, the O2+ Revive even has a granulated carbon filter that traps and removes odors, harmful gases, and VOCs. The humidifier has a filter that operates similar to an air washer by trapping dust and other particles in the filter so they are taken out of the room’s atmosphere.
The Revive will refresh and filter the air in a 627 square foot room 3 times every hour. An air purifier and humidifier combo aren’t cheap, but so worth the investment if you really struggle with allergens and skin issues.
6. BONECO H300 Hybrid Humidifier Air Purifier
The BONECO H300 Hybrid Humidifier Air Purifier is another cool combo machine because it actually washes the air to make sure you’re breathing in the best—it will do this throughout the day.
It can filter up to 540 square feet that can also pair to an app to set it in its presets mode. I love that it automatically shuts off after the water base is empty—you don’t have to worry about it running for hours without it not doing what it’s supposed to.
I also appreciate that the machine has specialized evaporation mats that work to clean the air, which removes large pollutant particles up to 10 microns in size.
If you love adding essential oils to the air for a fragrance smell, there is a built-in container to add in your drops of essential oils.
7. Objecto H7 Hybrid Humidifier
I’m kind of obsessed with the unique and modern design of the Objecto H7 Hybrid Humidifier. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an aesthetic humidifier that doubles as sculpture.
It runs for up to 22 hours and can cover up to 650 square feet. I love that it has a built-in anti-microbial tank and has an aromas tray for your essential oils.
You can literally sleep with the humidifier one because it has a whisper-quiet mode. Once the humidifier reaches empty it will automatically shut off.
8. Sharp Triple Action Plasmacluster Air Purifier with Humidifying
The Sharp Triple Action Plasmacluster Air Purifier and Humidifier is another popular option with raving reviews. I’m a big fan of the minimal and modern look of the machine.
It has an exclusive patented Plasma cluster ion technology that eliminates microscopic pollutants and volatile organic compounds that traditional filters cannot trap by producing positive and negative ions from water vapor in the air.
You’ll be happy to know it’s ARB Certified and produces 5X less ozone (at less than 0. 01 ppm) than the lowest industry and federal standards set by the FDA, OSHA, and NIOSH.
It has a triple filtration system with a washable pre-filter that traps dust and other large particles that pass through the filters. It also has an activated carbon filter and true HEPA filters working all of its magic on the air in the room.
For purifying up to 254 square feet and having both an air purifier and humidifier, it’s listed at a more affordable price compared to the other hybrid units I talked about.
9. Venta LW25 Airwasher Comfort Plus Humidifier
The Venta LW25 Airwasher Comfort Plus Humidifier is unique because it uses a cold evaporation process that is apparently the best humidification method. It humidifies spaces up to 485 square feet (it has a 1.8-gallon water tank) and has a digital touch display with lots of controls like auto-mode, sleep mode, and convenient service indicators.
I love the auto shut-off and low water indicator feature that allows you to be more hands-off with using a machine like this. You also have the ability to select the desired humidity level between 30% to 70% in 5% increments.
Don’t worry about using filtered water in your humidifier since it’s tap water safe. It also naturally reduces harmful pollutants in the air at a humidity level of 40-60%.
10. Airdoctor Classic 4-in-1 Pre-Filter, UltraHEPA, Carbon and VOC Filters Air Purifier
Last up is the Airdoctor Classic which features a 4-in-1 filter selection. It has an ultra HEPA filter that is 100x more effective than traditional HEPA air purifiers by removing 100% of particles at 0.003 microns in size.
The AirDoctor’s dual-action Carbon/VOC Filter also removes dangerous chemicals and gasses in the air. The best part is that it can purify the air up to 900 square feet.
It works completely on an auto sensor and has a built-in ionizer. You can also set the purifier to run for up to 24 hours.
