Starting off with the first step of my routine, using the Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm. I’ve tried a few cleansing balms and this is hands down my favorite one.
Using a cleansing balm or cleansing oil is key to removing all your makeup and sunscreen from the day—I typically only double cleanse at night. I love how easy this balm glides onto my face and melts away all my sebum, sunscreen, and makeup.
The ingredients in this cleansing balm are amazing! You’ll find sea buckthorn oil, olive oil, vitamin E, and persimmon extract.
All of these ingredients work together to soften and protect the skin. It’s also anti-aging and brightens the skin helping with hyperpigmentation.
Then I Met You works on all skin types—especially sensitive skin—and will leave your skin feeling so soft. The scent is also divine so I always look forward to using this product.
The next step is to finish off double cleansing with a gentle cleanser. I personally love this COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, but you can use any gel-like cleanser.
This cleanser is formulated with tea tree and beta hydroxy acids that help reduce the look of large pores. I also love how much this cleanser helps with controlling oil production.
Even though it’s called Good Morning, you can totally use this cleanser morning and night. I’m obsessed with maintaining a strong skin barrier and this cleanser effectively helps with that.
Since this is a low pH cleanser, it will help balance your skin and protect it from any irritants. It works on all skin types too!
After double cleansing, I like to go in with a hydrating toner and this LANEIGE Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer is one of my all-time favorite skin care products. If you tend to have dehydrated and dry skin, you’re going to love this toner because it leaves your face feeling like it just had a glass of water.
Since this is a 2-in-1 formula it helps prep and softens the skin. This toner is supposed to have the same amount of hydration that you find in a jar of cream. 🤩
It’s made with specialized white tea leaves that are harvested once a year and grown in the shade, which means that you’re getting more amino acids per bottle. The white tea leaves help strengthen, moisturize, and soothe the skin.
Just shake it up before using it and apply a few drops to your hand. I love patting it into my skin until it’s fully absorbed. If you feel like your skin needs some more hydration, they recommend reapplying another layer on top.

After toner, I love applying an essence. This Dewytree Cica 100 Essence works great on all skin types, but acne prone skin will love this the most because of how calming it is.
This essence is loaded with Centella Asiatica extract that is most commonly known as cica. Cica is one of my favorite ingredients because it’s high in antioxidants and vitamins that work together to strengthen your barrier while calming any irritated skin.
You’ll also notice that your skin’s elasticity will be looking extra bouncy and dewy—we love a healthy complexion. The consistency is very thin and light so it absorbs quickly into the skin.
Any redness or irritations will literally disappear after a few uses of this Cica essence—it’s that good.
Now it’s time for my favorite part, applying all my serums. 🥰 This Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum is one of my holy grails—I’ve talked about it before in my Korean Serums blog post.
The title of the serum literally speaks for itself and you will definitely have glass skin after applying a few drops. This serum is packed with ingredients like peach extract, niacinamide, East Asian mountain yam, madecassoside, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.
All of these ingredients work together to help hydrate, calm, brighten, and firm the skin. Of course, this serum works amazingly well on all skin types.
After a few uses, you’ll notice how much this serum helps with hyperpigmentation and prevents breakouts. ✨
On days when I feel like my skin is feeling extra irritated or when I need a little more hydration, I love using the Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Redness Relief Serum.
It’s made with antioxidant-rich avocado and ceramides to help reduce the look of redness and irritation caused by dehydration or environmental stressors.
I love that everything by Glow Recipe is cruelty-free and made with clean ingredients. You’ll find ingredients like avocado butter, ceramide 5, and allantoin A.
It’s important to note that I don’t use this serum every time. I only use it when I need it.
You can get 10% off this serum by shopping it directly from Glow Recipe, and signing up for their newsletter!

If I ever have minimal redness or need some more lightweight calming, I love going in with this Beauty of Joseon Calming Serum.
This is a super lightweight serum that works to soothe the skin and target redness. It’s rich in green tea and antioxidants that help reduce sebum and oil production.
The panthenol helps keep the skin smooth and supple. There’s also cica to help with the redness as well.
It doesn’t have a harsh scent and absorbs very quickly.
To top everything off, I like to use a lightweight gel cream in the warmer months or mornings. This Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Gel Cream is so lightweight and absorbs so quickly.
I love that it’s not thick but leaves your skin feeling very hydrated. This gel cream is made with a blend of Jartbiome, Centella Rx, and Cicabond.
All of these ingredients work together to leave your skin’s barrier feeling hydrated and stronger. This gel cream also never leaves your skin feeling sticky, which is a huge plus!
If you have drier skin or are looking for a thicker restorative cream, the Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream is definitely worth the investment. This is a silky-soft powerful cream that helps with anti-aging.
Your skin will be looking firmer, smoother, and more refreshed after a few uses. I love that there are peptides to help protect the skin from any environmental stressors.
The ginseng saponin improves the look of any wrinkles and firmness. It feels so good on the skin that I feel like I’m getting a spa treatment every time I use it.
This is a bonus step in my skincare routine for the AM—applying SPF is so important and this Innisfree Daily UV Defense Sunscreen is one of my favorites! I love that it feels like skincare and doesn’t leave a white cast.
It’s made to also hydrate the skin while protecting it from the sun. There are ingredients like Green Tea, Cica, and Sunflower Seed Oil.
All these ingredients work together to nurture, smooth, soothe, and reduce the signs of any irritation.
That was my entire 5 step Korean skincare routine featuring my favorite Korean glass skin products. I highly recommend following these steps with double cleansing, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer, and topping off with SPF if it’s the daytime.
If you’re someone with any under-eye concerns like dark circles, you can totally incorporate an eye cream to adjust the routine to better fit your skincare needs. I’ve noticed since incorporating this routine, my makeup looks like I’m wearing a beauty filter or something!
