This post has been sponsored by Cetaphil®. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Skincare has always been something I’ve had to spend a lot of time (and money…and trial and error) on. My teenage years were spent being acne-prone, while my twenties involved a lot of managing different products and routines to balance my combination oily and dry skin that can get out of whack really easily. Now that I’m about to enter into my thirties, I feel like my skin is finally starting to calm down and become more manageable, but it still requires a lot of upkeep.

I’ve been practicing self-care through a few different skincare routines that require me to slow down, take time, and pause. Cetaphil® Daily Hydrating Lotion and Cetaphil® Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream are some of my go-to products for my self-care routine, and as the #1 Dermatologist Recommended Facial Skincare Brand, these products keep my skin soft and hydrated. You might not have heard of these products or tried these routines before, so I’m excited to share them with you today!

Through September 27th, you can save $2 on ONE Cetaphil® product at Walgreens!

Skincare Routines:

Heat masking. Masking is all the rage right now, but heat masking is something I’ve actually been doing since my teenage years. By using an electric heat mask, you’re really opening up your pores and helping them absorb nutrients from the products that you use. I like to first apply a couple of my favorite serums, and then top with something hydrating, like Cetaphil® Daily Hydrating Lotion, which offers up intense hydration and has Hyaluronic Acid (known for being a powerful moisturizer and essential component of skin). This product is great for dry skin, and I like that it’s fragrance-free and that I can swing by my local Walgreens to quickly pick it up. I’ve also been using the Cetaphil® Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream under my eyes, which is specifically for brightening and smoothing the under-eye area. It’s also deeply hydrating and non-irritating, which is great for sensitive eyes like mine. You can also find this hydrating eye gel-cream at Walgreens. After I apply these products, I place a hot wash cloth (with a little hole for my nose cut out) on my face, and use a heated facial mask on top of that for 15 – 20 minutes. I like to meditate while I’m masking, and the combination of meditating and the warm, heated mask is so relaxing.

Gua sha. This one is super new to me, but I’ve just recently started doing gua sha in the mornings on weekends and on weeknights, and I’ve been loving it! You’ve probably seen jade rollers popping up on social media, but gua sha takes things to the next level by massaging your face to improve circulation. You first apply oil to your skin (I like to use jojoba oil or avocado oil), and then use a gua sha tool like rose quartz to lightly scrape and massage your face. I’ve noticed that afterwards, it’s like an instant facelift! By the way, traditional gua sha involves scraping the skin, often times on the back, but the modern facial gua sha involves light, gentle movements with medium to light pressure.

At home micro-needling. Also known as derma-rolling, microneedling is a powerful way to slow the aging process and create a youthful glow. While it might sound scary to be sticking a bunch of tiny needles in your face, any at-home rollers will have needles that are less than 1mm long, which means you hardly feel a thing. If you’re interested in a deeper treatment (aka using longer needles), you’ll need to go to a dermatologist. At home, you’ll just apply serum, roll, and apply more serum.  When rolling, you’ll want to roll vertically, horizontally, and diagonally over your whole face for just a minute or two. Over time, the superficial, small holes created can help refresh the skin.
