As a new mom, I’m soaking up every minute possible with Baby Roman, so I haven’t had time to visit the nail salon in a while. Thankfully, I can achieve the perfect press-on manicure at home using Olive & June from Walmart! Walmart carries all the products I need to apply a fresh set—application couldn’t be easier, and it’s way more affordable than getting them done professionally. Here’s exactly how to get salon-quality manicures at home.
The most challenging part of doing press-on nails at home is deciding which ones to go with! Walmart has so many cute colors, patterns, shapes, and lengths for any occasion. Short nails, like this Velvet Fig Swirls style, are practical for daily life because they don’t interfere with work or errands. I also like medium-length nails when I’m feeling a bit fancy. This almond-shaped Rainbow Swirl set is perfect for summer, and the Pink Iridescent oval nails are a timeless classic.

Once you’ve picked the set, it’s time to start prepping your nails. I use nail polish remover to get rid of any leftover color before trimming and filing my nails to a manageable length. Then, I go in with the Dual-Ended Manicure Cuticle Pusher to push my cuticles down. I like this tool because it has a flat side and a sharper end, so I can get really precise. The Exfoliating Cuticle Remover is also a must because it makes trimming cuticles super easy. It contains ingredients like jojoba and avocado oils that nourish and strengthen the skin around your fingernails.
After your nails and cuticles are prepped, it’s time to start applying. Use the alcohol swab from the press-on kit to clean your fingernails. Every Olive & June kit comes with a bunch of different-sized nails, so you can find the perfect fit. I like to pick each one and lay them out before starting so I know which nail goes with which finger. Use the Press-On Nail Glue to secure each nail—it brushes on, so the process is fast and easy. This glue works amazingly and helps maintain the manicure for up to two weeks. If a nail pops off, simply use more nail glue to restick it, and voila. Good as new!
I like to finish my at-home manicure with the Cuticle Serum Pen. Its hydrating formula promotes healthy cuticles, and the packaging makes application a breeze. Olive & June’s serum won’t leave your hands feeling greasy or sticky, and it’s an excellent addition to your nail routine.
I love that Walmart carries incredible brands like Olive & June so I can prioritize self-care without blowing my budget. Browse the massive selection of beauty products available on Walmart for more inspiration!
