Static Nails Review: Everything To Know Before You Buy

I love giving myself an instant pick-me-up with an at-home manicure, so I’m excited to share my honest thoughts in this Static Nails review. 

Even though I’ll occasionally splurge and take myself to a salon, professional manicures can get expensive and time-consuming.

I’ve been a big press-on nails girly for a while (read my imPRESS nails review here), but I only just recently tried Static Nails.

How Do Static Nails Products Work?

The Reusable Pop-On Manicures from Static Nails are super easy to use—apply the nails using the glue included in the kit, and you’re ready to go. 

The kit only comes with enough nail glue for one or two manicures, so I recommend buying an extra bottle to keep on hand.

If the nails feel too long after application, you can easily shape them with the nail file included in the kit or trim them with fingernail clippers. 

The Reusable Pop-On Manicure kit includes 24 nails to find the perfect match for your natural nails. 

I’m so impressed by the durability of these press-on nails because they don’t fade, chip, or peel off. 

Static Nails also formulates its false nails to be water-resistant, so you can swim and shower without worrying about your mani.

One of the best parts about Static Nails is it keeps its products within an affordable price range, with most manicure kits priced around $20.

The Static Nails Pop-On Manicures last up to 14 days with proper application and care, and the nails are reusable so that you can get more than just one use out of them.

Of course, the nails also look super aesthetic—the Opalescent French Reusable Pop-On Manicure is at the top of my wishlist because it’s so trendy.

Applying the Reusable Pop-On Manicure

Step One: Prep

Clean your natural nails by filing and buffing them, and remove any old nail polish.

This step will help the fake nails stick, so never skip prepping!

Step Two: Choose Your Size

To figure out which nails to use, align the pop-on against your natural nail and find the best-fitting size. 

I also recommend arranging the press-on nails in a line so there’s no confusion over which nail goes with which finger.

Sometimes the Static Nails Pop-On Manicure sizing can be a bit wonky, so you might have to trim and file to get the perfect fit.

Step Three: Glue Them On

The amount of glue you use when applying the nails will vary depending on how long you want them to last.

If you only want them for one to two days, you’ll want to apply a thin strip of glue from your cuticle to the nail tip.

Use more glue to make your nails last and cover the entire nail surface. You don’t have to go wild with the glue but use enough so that when you press down, they stay in place without wiggling around.

To get the most out of your Pop-On Manicure, apply the glue to your natural nail, let it dry briefly, and then brush some on the fake nail as well—this will create a strong bond between the press-on and your natural nail.

Once you’ve applied the glue and let it dry for a few seconds, gently press down on each nail to ensure proper adhesion.

Step Four: Shape and File

After the glue has dried, you can shape and file the nails however you like. 

I’m constantly typing for work and doing different house projects, so I opted to trim the Static Nails press-on nails to a shorter and more natural length.

The pop-on nails are easy to shape—I had no problems cutting them, and they looked exactly how I wanted.

Some of the fake nails were a bit wider than my natural nail bed, which wasn’t annoying but something I noticed as a perfectionist.

Results

I was amazed by how strong and realistic the Static Nails Pop-On Manicure looked. 

A few nails fell off, but I quickly reapplied and used more glue to keep them secure.

I found the nails very comfortable to wear, although with any press-on nails that are a little longer and almond-shaped like these, I find typing on my laptop a little harder when I have these on. Which is why I usually opt for this style of nail when I’m on vacation.

Considering the price and the durability of the Static Nails manicure, with the bonus of being reusable, I think they’re worth the $16-$24 price tag.

Next time I have a special event or trip, I’ll reach for the Delicate Pink Reusable Pop-On Manicure because it’s the perfect natural shade.

Removing the Nails

The Static Nails Pop-On Manicure is just as easy to remove as it is to apply.

Static Nails suggests soaking your fingers in hot water to loosen the nails—this makes it easy to lift the side of the nail and gently remove it.

With proper care, these reusable nails can be used up to three times and won’t damage your natural nails.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

Non-damaging: I love that the Static Nails pop-ons don’t damage my nails. I can always have beautiful nail designs without worrying about my natural nails being affected.

Easy application: The application process is quick and easy—it takes less than five minutes to do a full manicure. The kit includes a nail file so you can shape them exactly how you want.

Reusable: One of the big pros for me is that the Static Nails manicures are reusable. I can get several uses out of each set, which makes them very cost-effective.

Cons:

Sizing: Some of the press-on nails are a bit wide, so if you have smaller nailbeds, they may not fit properly. This can vary, so I still recommend buying a set to try.

Durability: While trying out the Static Nails manicure, some pop-ons fell off after a few days. That could have been my fault for not using enough glue—since the nails are reusable, it was super easy to reapply them.
