2. Campari House

Campari House is one of my favorite rooftop bars in Melbourne for a laidback evening out.

Established in 1967, Campari House is one of the oldest rooftop bars in Melbourne, featuring four levels of chic entertainment, including a restaurant, cocktail lounge, and, of course, rooftop bar.

The rooftop bar at Campari House is nestled among the Melbourne skyscrapers and is known for its charming lawn area where locals and tourists gather to taste the Italian-inspired offerings.

Campari House is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Enjoy a glass of Campari or, if you’re a gin girly, try the classic Negroni—it’s downright delicious!

5. Naked in the Sky

Don’t let the wild name scare you off! Naked in the Sky (the rooftop bar of Naked for Satan) has an amazing fifth-floor terrace with incredible views of Melbourne CBD—I would even say it’s one of the best rooftop bars in Northern Melbourne.

With a drink menu that spans almost 20 pages, you’re sure to find something you like—highlights include house-infused vodka and some tasty mocktails, too!

The Naked in the Sky terrace is super trendy and has an urban vibe, making it the perfect place for a casual night out.

The menu at this Melbourne rooftop bar features a great selection of tapas, and the indoor restaurant on the lower level has even more options to satisfy late-night cravings.

Hobson’s Bay Hotel is located in Williamstown, just southwest of the CBD area of Melbourne.

This trendy hotel features multiple floors dedicated to dining and drinking, but the rooftop bar is the real star of the show.

You’ll be treated to sweeping views over Williamstown, Port Phillip Bay, and the entire Melbourne skyline from the terrace.

This year-round rooftop bar offers a mix of local craft beers, expertly-crafted cocktails, and a classic pub-style menu.

The atmosphere at Hobson’s Bay Hotel is friendly and inviting, so I highly recommend visiting if you’re a solo traveler looking to make new friends.

If you feel like taking an international journey without stepping foot outside of Melbourne, Bomba is the spot for you.

Bomba is a Spanish restaurant and rooftop bar that serves delicious tapas dishes and paellas with a lively open-air terrace.

The view at Bomba is super unique compared to other rooftop bars on this list, so it’s one of my favorites.

The Bomba rooftop terrace has a charming Spanish atmosphere—you’ll immediately feel like you’ve been transported to a European bodega.

Bomba features a retractable roof, so you can enjoy it any time of year, and a wide selection of Spanish wines and delicious signature cocktails.

My favorite drink at Bomba is the on-tap sangria, YUM!

9. Loop Roof & Loop Top

This next rooftop bar is actually two in one!

Located in the heart of Melbourne, Loop Roof is a third-story rooftop garden that provides a peaceful and tropical escape from the city.

The bar opened in 2013 and expanded with Loop Top, the fourth-floor rooftop terrace, in 2019.

Both levels are overflowing with stunning vertical gardens and furnished with comfortable seating areas—these rooftop bars are some of the best places in the city to watch the sunset while sipping on a cocktail.

11. Suburban Dining + Rooftop

Aussies really can’t get enough of brunch, and I’m all for it!

At Suburban Dining + Rooftop, you can enjoy bottomless brunch on the weekends—what’s better than Saturdays and Sundays full of yummy food and cocktails?

Suburban Dining + Rooftop is a multi-level restaurant, courtyard, AND rooftop bar.

The open-air level is particularly noteworthy since it’s the only rooftop beer garden on Melbourne’s east side.

When it’s not brunch o’clock at Suburban, you can enjoy a variety of Victorian craft beer, wine, cider, spirits, and cocktails in a calm and welcoming environment.

This is also one of the best places in the city to mingle with locals and get a taste of authentic Aussie life.

This rooftop bar is located atop the Transport Hotel, which technically isn’t a hotel but a bar and restaurant complex located near Federation Square.

The bar has both an indoor lounge and an open-air terrace, and the atmosphere is always fun and exciting.

Everyone at Transit Bar always seems to be in the best mood, and who wouldn’t be while enjoying amazing views and the perfect combination of craft beers and unique cocktails?

The Osborne Rooftop & Bar is a stylish and trendy venue located in Melbourne’s vibrant South Yarra neighborhood.

The two floors of this rooftop bar have a modern and relaxed atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a night out with friends.

The Osborne sports a charming bar, courtyard, and restaurant on the ground floor—but of course, the most impressive feature is the cocktail lounge and outdoor bar on the top floor.

16. Siglo Bar

At Siglo Bar, you can enjoy views of the Parliament House and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, two classic Melbourne landmarks.

This rooftop hangout is unique not only for its showstopping view but also for its classy setting.

Siglo has a French bistro feel, complete with white tablecloths, wicker chairs, and wooden garden furniture.

Although Siglo offers some fancy bar bites, it’s more of an upscale wine and cocktail bar.

The service here is excellent, with expertly crafted cocktails, a wide selection of fine wines, and even a few varieties of Cuban cigars!

Siglo Bar is definitely one of the more expensive rooftop bars in Melbourne, but it’s worth the splurge if you’re looking for a special night out.

17. Rooftop Bar

If you’re looking for a rooftop bar in Melbourne, you have to visit THE Rooftop Bar.

The Rooftop Bar is a popular Melbourne spot located atop Curtain House in the city center—it has an urban and trendy vibe with fantastic skyline views from seven floors up.

TBH, the rooftop decor isn’t anything special, but the terrace is spacious and attracts a lively crowd when the weather is warm and sunny.

Of course, most visitors aren’t coming for the decor but for the yummy signature cocktails and an impressive selection of beer.

The Rooftop Bar also hosts cinema nights and events, so there’s always something fun going on.

Image via Goldilocks Bar

18. Goldilocks Bar

For a hidden gem rooftop bar in Melbourne, you can’t go wrong with Goldilocks.

This lowkey rooftop bar on Swanston Street is worth a visit for the vibrant cocktail menu and enchanting atmosphere—I love how small and intimate the space is.

Goldilocks serves a variety of creative cocktails inspired by storybook characters, along with some experimental and signature drinks.

Plus, the rooftop bar also has some yummy Asian food options such as dumplings and noodles.

Image via Good Heavens Rooftop Bar

19. Good Heavens Rooftop Bar

Good Heavens Rooftop Bar is my last recommendation for the top rooftop bars Melbourne has to offer, located on the rooftop of Fancy Hank’s, an American-style BBQ restaurant in the center of the city.

The main focus of the rooftop is creative cocktails and a lighthearted atmosphere where locals and tourists can gather for a fun evening.

The vibe at Good Heavens is reminiscent of Miami or Palm Springs in the 80s but with an Australian twist—it’s a bit kitschy but also so fun and lively.

This rooftop cocktail bar features an impressive deliciously fruity and tropical menu.

There are so many incredible rooftop bars Melbourne is home to that no matter what vibe you’re going for, you’re guaranteed to have an amazing time.
