Matcha Green Tea Latte

Tea Latte

I’m a huge coffee drinker and my morning really isn’t complete until I’ve had some form of coffee, whether it’s black, or a mocha or cappuccino. In the afternoons, I usually drink tea, but I find that drinking plain tea, loose leaf or tea bags, can be a little underwhelming sometimes. So I’ve been experimenting with all kinds of tea lattes like London fogs (also known as an earl grey tea latte), chai lattes, and now my new personal favorite matcha green tea lattes.

I can’t believe it took me this long to try a matcha latte at home! It’s so easy, creamy and yummy. So try making this super easy homemade matcha tea latte recipe that will take little time and literally warm your soul. It’ll beat going to the coffee shop in the morning and save you some money!

Matcha Tea Latte

YIELDS: 2 Lattes

INGREDIENTS:

2 teaspoons of organic matcha powder

1 cup of boiling water

1 cup of milk (I like to use almond milk)

1 tablespoon of honey

1 teaspoon of vanilla bean paste (can substitute with vanilla extract)

STEPS:

Pour matcha powder into a bowl and add a few tablespoons of boiling water. Then whisk together until a thick paste forms. Adding a little bit of water will help dissolve the matcha easier.

Add the rest of the boiling water into a blender and then add the matcha paste. Then add milk, honey, and vanilla to the mix and blend on high for 10-15 seconds. I like to use my Nutribullet for this.

Finally, pour into two mugs.

Top with extra milk or frothed milk if desired.

A FEW RECIPE NOTES:

If you own a milk frother, I would recommend topping your matcha latte with some extra frothed milk and sprinkle some matcha powder on top!

You can also easily make this an iced tea latte by adding a few ice cubes to your drink.

If you’re looking for something else to sip on this winter, I love making drinks using these immunity bombs.
