I’m sharing all the deets on Interior Define sectionals in today’s post!
We’ve been in our new house for five months now (I can hardly believe it!) and while it’s been a slow process, things are really starting to come together in terms of furniture and decor.
As a couple, we spend a lot of time in the family room area by the kitchen, and I knew that we wanted to put a sectional in there.
We chose Interior Define for our sectional and we are so happy with it!
If you’re not familiar with Interior Define, they do gorgeous, custom-made sofas. Their pieces are all beautifully designed, and with all of the different options for styles, fabrics, legs, layout, and sizing, you can create the exact perfect seating for your home.
I find it so frustrating when I’m looking for a furniture piece and find one that I love, but it’s just not quite the right size. Or, maybe it’s perfect except for the color or fabric.
With Interior Define, you choose and customize all of those details so your seating is exactly what you’re looking for—it’s pretty brilliant!
Interior Define Sectionals Review
Interior Define Collections
We went through all of Interior Define’s 15+ collections and landed on The Owens. We love the simple yet comfortable and inviting design and felt that it would look great with the rest of our home’s mid-century modern furniture.
Unfortunately, The Owens sectional is no longer available, but you can still snag an Owens Chaise Lounge or Owens Accent Chair.
I also recommend checking out the Charly, Jasper, and Ella corner sectional sofas, as they have a similar sleek look and mid-century modern vibe.
Within each of the collections, there are a ton of different configurations, like chaise sectionals (with options for which side the chaise is on—do you want a right chaise sectional or a left??), U-shaped sectionals, and corner sectionals.
There are also sofas, loveseats, chairs, and ottomans, and since each piece belongs to a collection, it’s easy to make sure everything matches and looks cohesive.
We decided to go with The Owens Ottoman to complete our collection. Then we got to customizing!
Interior Define Sectionals Fabric
Interior Define has over 100 different fabrics you can choose from and you can, of course, order free swatches.
We ordered a bunch of different fabric swatches in mostly neutral colors and ended up going with Heathered Weave Pebble because we love the soft color and how comfortable the fabric feels.
To give you an idea of all the different fabrics you can choose from, here’s a list of Interior Define’s options (each with multiple colors to choose from), along with my notes from some that we looked at:
- Performance Plush Velvet – stain-resistant, plush velvet
- Performance Tweed
- Performance Vintage Velvet
- Performance Linen Weave
- Slub Weave
- Heathered Weave – love the subtle thread variation
- Performance Pebble Knit
- Performance Basket Weave – has pretty, subtle tonal variations
- Performance Heavy Knit – a good stain-resistant fabric option
- Performance Micro Knit
- Mod Velvet – tightly woven blend offers a durable profile
- Performance Velvet – so luxe, with a soft medium-height pile
- Monochromatic Plush – shades of one color blended together in a super soft fabric
- Cross Weave
- Pigment-Dyed Leather
- Performance Textured Weave
- Fleck
- Vintage Plush
- Performance Crosshatch
- Pebble Weave
- Static Weave
- Herringbone
Legs
After settling on fabric you get to choose the color, and sometimes the shape, of the sofa’s legs.
I love that there are so many different styles and colors to choose from, and the matte black square outline was perfect for the look we were going for on our corner sectional.
Sizing
Then, it’s on to sizing—again, I think it’s so amazing that they have multiple lengths available because it can be so frustrating when you find a piece you love but it’s just not quite the right size for your space!
We did the 90″ corner sectional which is the perfect size to take seating right up to the edge of our half-height wall that the sofa is flush with, but the sizing goes all the way up to 114″.
Seat Cushions
For this step of the Interior Define sectionals, you can choose whether you want to do bench seating or two cushions on each piece of the sectional.
We thought the bench seating looked cleaner so we went with that option. You can then choose the cushion fill, and we went with the down alternative.
Delivery
After you’ve made all your custom choices, it’s just about patience and playing the waiting game! Since Interior Define’s pieces are custom-made to order, delivery typically takes 18 – 20 weeks.
But, the wait is worth it! Our Owens Corner Sectional was delivered during a pre-set appointment time and put together by the white glove delivery service guys who were very efficient.
Customer Service
Interior Define has fantastic customer service. Custom furniture is definitely an investment piece, so they make it really easy for you to have peace of mind and know that you’re going to love what you get.
Interior Define offers live online chat so you can get questions answered easily or take advantage of free design help from their design specialists.
They even have an app that uses AR to place the Interior Define sectionals in your home so you can really visualize pieces and create floor plans to make sure they’ll be the perfect fit.
Lastly, Interior Define has a 10-year warranty for the frame and suspension system of their sofas, and they partner with Affirm so you can purchase the sofa you want and pay over time.
Interior Define Sectionals – Final Thoughts
We are so in love with our Owens sectional and ottoman and incredibly happy with how the whole setup turned out.
The furniture looks perfect in our family room and not only does it look beautiful, but it’s so comfortable.
Omied and I lounge on it every day, whether I’m journaling in the morning, working on my laptop in the afternoon, or we’re snuggled up watching a movie in the evening.
My Interior Define sectional and ottoman have been the perfect pieces for our family room—now we just need to complete the room with a few more wall decor items, haha!
A huge thank you to Interior Define for gifting us our sectional and ottoman!
