Best Eyebrow Pomade: 6 Pomades You Should Try

Share this post or pin it for later!

When I do my makeup, it all starts with the eyebrows—and you know I need the best eyebrow pomade for that. I’ve tried various eyebrow products texture-wise, but I always come back to pomades.

Maybe you’re into eyebrow pomades too. Maybe you’re like, wtf is an eyebrow pomade? By the end of this post, you’ll be an expert.

It can be an overwhelming process finding the right pomade for your brows—eyebrows sometimes steal the spotlight of your face, so they need to look perfect!

Eyebrow pomades weren’t a common eyebrow product until Anastasia Beverly Hills came around—thank you for changing my life Anastasia Soare.

When the hype for the dip brow slowly started dying, I stayed a loyal fan. Many people gravitated away from pomades in general since they tend to have a heavy hand with the product.

Brow Pomades are great if you have patience and learn how to use the product right. Here are my favorite eyebrow pomades that’ll hopefully get you inspired to try!

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow

Anastasia Beverly Hills changed the beauty community forever with this product. I’d consider this a timeless product because it’s still a major best seller.

Out of all the pomades I’ve tried, this one has to be my absolute favorite. I find it easy to work with and it works great if you want a natural or dramatic look.

Since it is so easy to work with, it’s easy to get carried away and over-apply the product—I’ll admit it’s happened but practice makes perfect!

A key thing to remember with this product is that it is better to start with a small amount since you can slowly build it up. If you pick up too much of this product, it starts looking a bit off.

Try using a really thin angled brush to get perfect hair-like strokes. Opt for a thicker eyebrow brush to fill in the brow!

2. NYX Professional Makeup Tame & Frame

If I was never introduced to the Anastasia Dip Brow, this NYX brow pomade would have easily been my holy grail. I love NYX makeup products so much because they’re so good and affordable.

This NYX brow pomade leaves your eyebrows with a more natural finish which is great for simple makeup. The formula of this eyebrow pomade is too good—it truly tames my eyebrow hairs.

With this pomade, you will never need brow gel. The formula is very waxy so it tames your brows while having them look matte!

The DipBrow pomade and this one honestly work almost identically.

3. Morphe Brow Creme

I came across this Morphe Brow Creme as I was looking for a new brow pencil by Morphe. I was trying to get into eyebrow pencils but oops, I found myself looking at their pomade instead.

From the first impression, I loved that they had a fairly good shade range! I’m sure anyone could find a shade that matches their hair color or skin tone.

Now onto the formula, this Morphe brow cream I found to be more on the silkier side rather than waxy. However, it’s still pretty good at making your eyebrows look good AF.

Another great thing about this product is the price. Morphe is letting us have perfect brows for only six dollars!

4. L.A. Girl Brow Pomade

L.A Girl was a brand I knew about, but for different products. Their concealers back then had a grip on me—they were too good.

I stumbled across this eyebrow pomade in-store and was genuinely impressed by it. While the shade range isn’t big, for six dollars it’s worth giving a try!

The brow pomade is water-resistant and smudge-proof which is amazing. I’d be careful with this product because yes, it’s easy to apply but it is super pigmented!

This eyebrow pomade is definitely a contender for the hot summer days that are ahead of us.

5. Benefit Cosmetics POWmade Brow Pomade

I have to say, one of the main reasons I love this pomade is that it doesn’t dry out. As much as I love my ABH Dip Brow, it tends to dry out after a while.

I’ve had this Benefit pomade for the longest and it still works as if it was brand new. The formulation is great—it doesn’t flake AT ALL!

Benefit Cosmetics outdid themselves with this product by having the container have a built-in wiper! This helps you get just the right amount of product—how amazing is that.

The shade range is also fairly good with this eyebrow pomade. It’s important to remember that the creaminess of this product makes a little go a long way!

6. Maybelline TattooStudio Brow Pomade

Maybelline is the one drugstore makeup brand that I will always go to if high-end makeup does me wrong. Once I saw this pomade was a dupe for the DipBrow, I NEEDED to try it.

It is on the pricier side when it comes to drug store makeup, but it comes with one of the best-angled brushes—it ends up being worth it. The spoolie brush on it works fabulously.

The shade range on this pomade is good for it being a drugstore product. This product works fabulously and leaves you with a smooth natural eyebrow look.

This pomade does such a good job at staying on for hours and keeping your brow hairs tamed. This is a must-try product for those with oily eyebrows—it works so well because of its matte formula.

Have my pomade recommendations convinced you to make a run to the store? I hope you found these eyebrow pomade picks helpful and you end up loving these products as much as I love them!

Quick tip, if you try the pomades make sure to have a good brush to use it with. Sometimes all a product is missing is the right applicator!

FAQs

Is a tinted brow gel better than a pomade?

It depends on the look you’re going for! Eyebrow pomades can give you a natural look just like tinted brow gels. However, eyebrow pomades can give you more defined results.

Can I use a darker shade for my eyebrows?

If your eyebrow hair is lighter than the actual shade, it can make your eyebrows look bulky. Try opting for a similar shade or maybe one shade lighter to keep a soft look.

How can I prevent a pomade from drying out fast?

This is all up to the formulation of the pomade. However, keeping the pomade closed well could help it from drying out quickly!
