Today I’m sharing a few snaps and an outfit from my trip to New Orleans! I have hundreds of photos that I’m trying to narrow down and will be sharing across three posts. The New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau flew out six bloggers to NOLA and absolutely spoiled us with an incredible trip and tour of New Orleans. I was thrilled to be part of this group and I knew I would have an amazing time, but I had no idea how much I would fall in love with New Orleans. NOLA has such a rich history that you can feel and see everywhere you turn. Every little thing—from buildings to restaurants, to food and people—has a story, and the people that live there are so knowledgable and passionate about their city, and want to share its inspiring story with you. The energy there is just contagious.
This particular outfit (I’m obsessed with this jumpsuit, btw. Super chic, but you might as well be wearing pajamas, as far as comfort levels go.), was from our second night in NOLA, where we went out for some amazing bites and cocktails at Cure, and then got to go to the Irvin Mayfield Jazz Playhouse. Lots of people have been asking me what my favorite part of New Orleans was, and if I had to pick just one (it’s so hard), I’d pick listening to jazz at this classic jazz house on Bourbon Street. The thing I loved about it was that you didn’t have to know anything about jazz music to appreciate how talented and remarkable the band was. People of all ages were just captivated by them. I even got teary eyed from being so overwhelmed by them, and a bunch of the other girls said the same thing happened to them! Such a special thing to experience. Here’s a quick video of Irvin Mayfield himself talking about what jazz in New Orleans means to him.
Stay tuned for more photos from this beautiful city!
