When we were in downtown Chicago a few weeks ago we stayed at The Gwen Hotel on 521 North Rush Street, which is part of Starwood’s Luxury Collection Hotels, Michigan Avenue Chicago. We absolutely loved this hotel and it turned out to be in the ideal location, just off of Magnificent Mile…I really appreciated it when the airline lost my luggage on my flight to Chicago and I had no clothes or toiletries.
The Gwen is literally connected to a Nordstrom and a mall, so that made finding replacement items while I waited for my bag to be delivered that much easier. Their customer service and hospitality were AMAZING!
The Art Deco vibes at The Gwen lux are gorgeous, and I loved all of the details and art at the hotel. It didn’t hurt that we were greeted with champagne (from Mumm Napa, which made us feel right at home) when we checked in.
The rooms are super spacious with a king bed and we had a beautiful view of the famous John Hancock Center. We also enjoyed live jazz at the bar of the hotel and drinks out on the patio terrace.
There’s also a gorgeous 24-hour fitness center. The weather was so gorgeous and it was the perfect way to spend an early evening before heading out to dinner.
We loved our time in Chicago and staying a few nights at The Gwen, which was one of the most beautiful hotels we’ve stayed at.
