Our stay at the Park Hyatt Milan was absolutely fantastic. This is the second Park Hyatt that I’ve had the pleasure of staying at (the first being the Park Hyatt Tokyo—you can read that post here), and Park Hyatts truly are on a whole other level. The service, rooms, decor, food, and location are first class, and the Park Hyatt Milano was no exception.
This property is absolutely somewhere you’d want to spend your Hyatt points and suite upgrades at, if you’re a frequent traveler or racking up points with your Hyatt credit card.
The Park Hyatt Milan is a Category 7 Hyatt property, so a redemption here for a free night costs either 30,000 Hyatt points, or 15,000 points plus 244 Euro for Points + Cash.
Park Hyatt Milan Review
Rooms:
The rooms at the Park Hyatt Milan are very chic and modern. We were upgraded to a Prestige Suite (a few upgrades up from their smallest suite, a Junior Suite), which includes a living room and bar area, private bedroom, and the most insane bathroom I’ve ever seen at a hotel. The bathroom was huge, and had a whirlpool bathtub and (get this) a shower that played music and had about 12 different shower heads on the ceiling and walls. It was epic. Definitely the most fun shower I’ve ever taken.
Frankly, the Park Terrace Suite is #goals. Can’t you just imagine having some incredible room service up there, with the Duomo behind you? Amazing.
When we checked in there was champagne and desserts waiting for us, with a note wishing my parents a happy anniversary (in case you’re confused by that pic—it was my parents’ 45th anniversary—not my/Omied’s! ?).
Location:
The Park Hyatt Milan is basically connected to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, which means it is also within walking distance (really just steps away) from the Duomo. It really does not get any more centrally located than this in Milan.
Food:
The hotel also has a two star Michelin restaurant, Vun Andrea Aprea. We dined here on our first night and really enjoyed it. The food was very innovative and the presentation was beautiful. And again, my parents were delivered a special treat wishing them a happy anniversary—so sweet and such a nice touch!
And while we’re on the subject of food, let’s talk about the amazing breakfast buffet at the Park Hyatt Milan. If you’re a Globalist with Hyatt, breakfast is included, which is a HUGE perk. Not only is the buffet included for Globalists, but you can also order a la carte items off of the breakfast menu, and there is one dish in particular you won’t want to miss—their lobster caviar omelette. You heard me right. Lobster. And. Caviar. (!!!) The buffet also has a gorgeous spread, with pastries, and plenty of hot proteins like scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, and even an area where you can slice your own prosciutto. They will even give you a little to go box so you can take more of this deliciousness with you!
Concierge Team:
The service at the Park Hyatt Milan was also fantastic, and the Concierge team did an A+ job. This is true for many cities in Italy, but especially in Milan, it can be really difficult to get tickets for some of the main attractions. For example getting tickets to see the Last Supper for a day that you want is really hard to do, especially if you don’t book a tour months in advance.
We had actually booked a tour through Viator months in advance to see the Last Supper and thought we were good to go, but just days before our tour, we got an email from Viator saying that our tour had been canceled. We had a minor (ok, major) freak out, because at that point there was zero availability online for tours to see the Last Supper, and we were just thinking about how sad that would be to go to Milan and not even get to see this amazing work of art. Fortunately, the concierge team at the Park Hyatt Milan came to the rescue. They basically have a network of concierges across hotels in Milan that they’re in contact with, and they were able to reach out to their network to see if any guests at the other hotels were looking to sell Last Supper tickets. They were miraculously able to find tickets for us at the very last minute, and we were so thankful!
At one point we were also looking to sell tickets to a symphony at La Scala (my dad had booked tickets for us, but on the wrong date and Omied and I were already going to be in Venice by then), and in this case too the concierge team came through and found guests at another hotel who wanted to buy the tickets from us. Seriously amazing!!
