A Weekend At The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe

When I was a kid we used to go to Tahoe for family vacations pretty frequently, and back then I really didn’t appreciate just how beautiful Lake Tahoe is, and how lucky I was to get to visit.

Now that I’m older and live in SF, going up to Tahoe is such a treat and getting out of the city to spend some time in this beautiful part of the world is something I don’t take for granted!

During our latest Tahoe trip, we stayed at the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe. As you can imagine based on all the rave reviews, this property is beautiful. There were so many special, thoughtful touches that really took our stay to the next level.

For example, every evening the hotel hosts a s’mores happy hour, where you can swing by and roast marshmallows (including homemade marshmallows they make in different flavors like strawberry or vanilla coffee bean). We made sure to hit up s’mores happy hour both nights—it was so fun!

If you stay at the Ritz Tahoe, be sure to take the gondola down to North Star from the property. The views are beautiful, and it’s such a fun way to get down to North Star. Plus you don’t have to worry about getting a cab back after indulging in some wine or cocktails—you can just hop on the gondola!

We also had dinner one night at their fine-dining restaurant, Manzanita, and it was fabulous. We enjoyed a couple appetizers and then split a delicious steak. Their cocktails were great too!

I personally love Tahoe during the summer, but I can imagine that the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe would be so picturesque during the winter too. We can’t wait to visit again!
