8 Best Outdoor Yoga Mats

1. Lululemon The Reversible Mat 5mm

Starting strong with Lululemon’s Reversible Mat. I love Lululemon’s yoga mats because they’re high quality, come in a variety of different colors, it’s thick, and it’s grippy.

It’s made out of a natural rubber base that gives you a lot of cushion and it has a textured grip. There’s also a polyurethane top layer that helps with absorbing moisture during your workout so you won’t be slipping around.

You don’t have to worry about cleanliness and germs since Lululemon includes antimicrobial additives to prevent mold and mildew on the mat. You should still wipe it after every workout, but at least the additive helps.

I’m obsessed with their color options, the chalky Rose and white are my personal favorite because I love pastel pink. I think finding a yoga mat with a fun color helps motivate you during your workout more.

Lululemon also sells some additional accessories for your yoga mat like a mat strap for easy on-the-go access and a yoga mat bag

Catch me outside in my backyard with this yoga mat doing my outdoor practice.

2. Manduka Pro Yoga Mat 6mm

If you’re really into yoga practice, you probably know about Manduka yoga mats since they’re some of the best ones.

The Manduka Pro Yoga Mat is one of the most popular yoga mats on the market and it’s always being recommended.

It comes in so many different colors and it’s made with some ultra-dense cushioning that helps with stability.

You’ll be happy to know that the Manduka Pro Yoga Mats are also designed to help prevent bacteria from growing and they’re super easy to clean.

If you tend to have more joint sensitivity, you’ll love how much extra padding and support this mat gives you. It’s literally perfect for outdoor workouts.

The best part is that they’re made to last forever and if your mat starts to show signs of wear they will happily replace it with a brand new yoga mat.

3. Alo Yoga Warrior Mat

Alo Yoga’s Warrior Mat is another fan favorite because it’s a super thick rubber mat built with lots of traction. If you’re looking for a lot of support and comfort then the Alo Yoga mat is perfect.

I personally think that Alo Yoga has the best color selection for their yoga mats. I love how simple and minimal the design is.

There are 10 different colors to choose from but the smokey quartz color is definitely my fav—I’m a sucker for pinks.

I also really love that the mat was designed to be anti-odor and slip-free since it’s designed for both wet and dry workouts.

If you prefer to purchase a yoga mat made with more natural ingredients, you’ll love that the Alo Yoga mat is made 100% formaldehyde-free, it’s non-toxic, and PVC-free. The rubber is even sourced ethically and is all-natural.

I’ve used an Alo Yoga mat before and absolutely loved it because of how comfy and oversized it is. You can really do anything on this yoga mat.

4. Manduka eKO Yoga Mat 5mm

Manduka has another really great yoga mat line called eKO and they have so many options to choose from.

First, the color choices are super versatile and there are some fun designs. Second, you have the option to pick the level of thickness you want in your mat.

Personally, I’m a big fan of my yoga mats being on the thicker side because it gives you more cushion. So, I would go with the 5mm mat.

You’ll also love that this mat is environmentally friendly. It’s made with biodegradable materials and the rubber is non-Amazon harvested tree rubber—so cool.

It’s also on the longer side, so you’ll have plenty of space to practice yoga, take your workout class, or just meditate.

Since the mat has thin look to it, it’s so easy to carry around especially if you decide to take an outdoor yoga class.

5. Amazon Gruper Yoga Mat Non Slip 6mm

Amazon has some really amazing yoga mat options if you’re shopping on a budget. This one is by Gruper and seems like a good dupe compared to the Lululemon Reversible mat.

It’s made with eco-friendly materials and comes with a double layer to prevent tears. The mat is very grippy and nonslip.

The Gruper Yoga Mat also comes in a variety of different colors and different lengths. This mat is a great starter mat and perfect for outdoor use.

You also don’t have to worry if you don’t love it since they have a 365-day satisfaction guarantee policy.

6. Lululemon Take Form Yoga Mat 5mm

The Lululemon Take Form Yoga Mat is similar to their Reversible Yoga Mat but this one is made with 3-D texture to help you feel around the mat to center yourself during your workout.

It’s made with natural rubber and some latex to provide you the ultimate support. This mat is the perfect balance between grippy and spongey.

The mat is super lightweight to carry around and you won’t slip at all. The rings on the mat also give you some additional support.

The only downside is they don’t offer as many color options. You’ll also love that this mat dries quickly, so if you tend to sweat a lot during your workout (it me) you don’t need to worry.

7. Gaiam Cork Yoga Mat 5mm

I thought it would be fun to include a cork yoga mat because I think they look so cute and they tend to be more environmentally friendly.

The Gaiam Cork Yoga Mat is made with natural cork and helps prevent germs. The bottom of the mat is made with non-toxic TPE rubber.

The cork is really cool because it keeps out dirt won’t absorb any weird odors. The cork also gives you a really nice grip because as you work out and sweat it will start to soften.

This mat is super thin and sleek, perfect for the on the go. The Gaiam yoga mats are also on the more affordable side making them budget-friendly.

8. Aurorae Synergy Hot Yoga Mat

The last yoga mat on my list is the Aurorae Synergy Hot Yoga Mat that’s made of polymer environmental resin.

It has a super unique design that makes this mat perfect for indoor and outdoor use. The mat is built with a microfiber towel on top as the first layer to help with sweat and slipping around.

The wetter the mat gets the better the grip is. You’ll feel supported while working out on this mat and immediately fall in love with the microfiber towel design.

It’s a little on the pricier side, but you do get a two-in-one yoga mat.

That’s all of my favorite outdoor yoga mats! I know yoga mats can be pretty pricey, but I think they’re worth the investment.

If you’re thinking about exercising more outdoors, you’ll want to get a durable and high-quality yoga mat to withstand tougher surfaces.

You can also easily use all of these outdoor mats inside, which makes yoga mats so great.
