We just got back from our Thailand trip and I had to write up a full Kimpton Kitalay Samui review to share this beautiful property with you!
The resort is an IHG Hotel & Resorts property overlooking Choeng Mon Beach, with 138 rooms, suites, and villas. When we checked in, we were welcomed with delicious drinks and a cold towel (necessary after a long travel day and with all the humidity!).
The property is stunning and the architecture and design are really well done. The hotel is just so chic with a minimalist, tropical vibe. Omied, my architect husband, was absolutely drooling over all the design elements, and so was I.
Kimpton Kitalay Samui Review
Rooms
We stayed in one of their pool access rooms, which was so much fun! Our room’s patio opened up to a private pool area that’s different than the main swimming pool. Only guests with these pool access rooms are able to use this pool, so it was a very quiet retreat.
As with the rest of this luxury hotel, our room was beautifully designed. We loved how open it was and how you could slide the floor-to-ceiling doors for privacy in the bathroom area, or leave them open for a more spacious feel.
The bar area was well-stocked with minibar options and a Nespresso machine. Most five-star hotels have this but I’m always so happy when I see a Nespresso situation in a hotel room because I can’t stand crappy coffee!
Kimpton Kitalay Samui’s rooms range from a standard room (called the “Essential Resort View”) to one-bedroom suites, to garden pool villas or oceanfront pool villas.
Food
When it comes to food, the breakfasts at Kimpton Kitalay Samui were the star of the show. Breakfast is included with your room rate, which is awesome.
Their breakfasts include a beautiful buffet, with fresh fruits, Thai specialties, and all the traditional Western breakfast foods like eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, omelets, etc.
As if that weren’t enough, they also have a menu that you can order off of with more breakfast foods, also included at no additional charge. Don’t miss the coconut pudding with tropical fruits—soo good! Breakfast is served at Boho Thai Lifestyle Cafe, and you can also grab lunch here.
Next door, you’ll find HOM Baking Company. This cute little cafe is the perfect spot to grab a coffee, pastries, or deli sandwiches.
There are also a couple of other restaurants on the property including the FishHouse and Lanai Bar, but we opted for getting a cab and going out to casual places for dinner.
Spa
You pretty much have to get a massage here! The prices are so reasonable compared to what we’re used to for spa pricing at a luxury hotel in the States. Take advantage and pamper yourself!
We did a 90-minute couples massage and it was heavenly. We were so relaxed afterward. I can’t remember the last time I had a 90-minute massage! Such a treat.
If you’re looking for a luxury hotel to stay at in Koh Samui, I can’t recommend the Kimpton enough! The staff were all so friendly, and we appreciated their attentive service.
They have an incredible promotion going on through June where if you book two nights, you get the third night free!
Thank you to IHG Hotels & Resorts for hosting us for this media stay!
