I’m getting to that age where friends are starting to get engaged. And married. And pregnant.
As someone who’s not in babyland and doesn’t plan to be for many years, it’s hard to know what makes a decent baby gift. Um, diapers? Parents need some of those, right? And unless your preggo friend has a baby registry (on the one hand, they’re helpful, and on the other, they’re annoying and it may make you want to consider getting new friends), it’s pretty much a shot in the dark.
One of my coworkers recently had a baby and when she was pregnant, I was tasked with picking out a gift for the wee new life. Too bad I’m probably the person in the office with the least amount of baby-gifting experience. Fortunately, my boss had the adorable idea of doing homemade baby gifts by decorating onesies. I bought packs of white, organic cotton onesies from Amazon, and my boss already had stencils and fabric markers, because she’s crafty like that.
These DIY baby gifts were super easy to make. Just slip some cardboard in the onesie, use the stencil, and you’re in business! I looked online for some inspiration. And here’s how ours turned out. So stinkin’ cute! This would also make the best baby shower game evs.
P.S. Next time, I’ll ask for Ryan’s help:

This is a great idea. As a mom, I would love those as baby gifts. Too cute! {Oh, and diapers are always welcome!}

Okay this is awesome! I feel the same way when it comes to buying presents for soon to be mommies. Hopefully once I get there my friends will make something adorable like this for me!
