A couple weekends ago, Omied and I got to go on a fun little date night in the city, planned by the lovely team at Me & You. The best part (besides spending time with Omied, awww) was that I didn’t have to plan a thing! I had been traveling for a week for a combined work/play trip in D.C., so it was nice to come home and have a fun date planned for us.
While Me & You plan all sorts of events, from proposals to birthday parties, here’s a little rundown of how the process worked for us and our date night. I met with the gals of Me & You over Skype (where we found out we had a lot in common like the fact that we were all at UCLA at the same time), and they asked me questions about me and Omied, our relationship and interests, things we like to do, etc. Then, they got back to me a couple days later with three different date options in the city. All of the date options felt very “us” and I seriously wanted to do all three of them. While they all involved good food (because, duh, have you met me and Omied?), each option was centered in a different neighborhood with a different theme and activity. Even though I hadn’t mentioned that Omied likes to pickle (great, now I’m drooling over the thought of his pickled jalapeños), one of the date options included a fermentation and pickling class, with dinner and drinks nearby at Nara Sushi in the Haight.
We loved our date night and had so much fun! Me & You also added a few extra special touches, like sending Omied an invite to our date with a little pickling jar while I was traveling, and a bottle of bubbly sake at our sushi dinner (which is now my drink of choice at Japanese restaurants—so sweet and yummy!).
Me & You did a fabulous job planning our special date and now it’s your turn! I’m hosting a giveaway over on Instagram for my Bay Area readers—Me & You is going to plan your next date night! Good luck! 🙂
