Since it’s going to take forever for things in our new home to come together and it’ll be a while before I can share any room reveal type posts, I thought I’d share some design inspiration posts during the process. Starting with cloffice ideas!
If you’re not familiar with the term, cloffice = closet + office. And I’ve basically been dreaming about having a cloffice since I started blogging. But especially since I started working from home full time a year and a half ago, having my own home office space has just sounded so dreamy.
And for the first few months when we were sheltering in place in our one-bedroom apartment and Omied and I were working right next to each other in our living room, I was really pining away for my own real estate and workspace.
So I’m pretty freaking pumped that in our new house, I have a room for my cloffice! I put together this mood board to help visualize what it will look like and guide my furniture/decor selects. With Omied being an architect and all, he put together some seriously gorgeous mood boards for other rooms in our house (I’ll share those too in other posts!) and it’s been really helpful, so I decided to make one for my cloffice.
For the colors, I’m keeping it on brand, and going with What The Fab’s color scheme, which includes mint, navy, blush, gold, and white.
I’m excited to be working with Modular Closets to create the closet space for my cloffice. This room already has a closet, but to deck it out I’m planning on taking the mirrored doors off so that it’s an open closet, and adding in the modular closet that’s being designed with shelves for shoes, bags, photos and cute knick-knacks, and drawers for storage space. There will also be a couple of hanging rods for clothes that I need to shoot.
Cloffice Ideas: Furniture
I’ve already set up this standing desk from Wayfair, and it’s been great! I wanted something white and this one came at a reasonable price point.
I also got a gold bar cart to go in the cloffice, and I’m planning on styling it and putting my small illy espresso machine on there for when I need an afternoon pick me up. The exact one I got is currently sold out, but there are a bunch of other pretty, similar ones:
My cloffice will also function as a second guest bedroom when we have multiple guests over, so our grey couch from Living Spaces that’s also a pull-out bed will be in here.
And then in terms of decor and accent pieces, I’m planning on doing a fun wallpaper statement wall! Thinking the grey couch will go against that wall, maybe with a gold accent mirror above it.
For lighting, I really want to do a chandelier moment, like this stunning one from Sullivan and Phenix.
For art, I’m thinking that a gallery wall with images in one or two of What The Fab’s brand colors (maybe blush and mint?) like this one from Desenio would be pretty.
So excited to see this room start coming together and can’t wait to share more with you!
