Happy Monday! I don’t know if you’re in the same boat or not, but I have a crazy work week ahead. We’re prepping for a 20k person conference next week, so it’s about to be a mad dash to the finish. I’ll be putting in some long hours, but it’s going to be so worth it. This conference is the largest gathering of women in tech, and that’s my absolute favorite audience to plan an event for because the vibe is just so good and I love seeing empowered women come together to learn and grow.
Given how intense work is about to be, I’m setting a goal for myself to move more during the work day. I’m pretty good about getting my evening workouts in, but I also know there’s more I could be doing throughout the day. Our office has a couple of treadmill desk stations, and I’ve been meaning to try them out. I’m starting with a goal of using the walk station for an hour every day. The Athleta Commute/Work line is perfect for helping me meet this goal, because I’m clearly going to need pieces that are chic enough to wear to work, but movable and comfortable. I’m especially loving their Headlands Hybrid Cargo Tights because they’re really cute for work but also breathable and stretchy, and best of all, very flattering. The Athleta Swissvale Bomber Jacket is also perfect for my morning commute (mostly walking during chilly SF mornings, and a short BART ride) because it’s really warm and cozy, and once I’m at the office and ready to hop on the walk station I can just peel off a layer and I’m good to go.
I love hearing how other women are adding some movement into their work day. My sister just recently bought a stationary pedal bike that she puts under her desk, and she just pedals away all day, burning an extra 400 calories a day! So brilliant.
