18 Most Instagrammable Places in Chicago
1. Cloud Gate, aka “The Bean”
Of course, I had to start this list with everyone’s favorite, Cloud Gate, also known as “The Bean.”
This bean-shaped sculpture sits in Millennium Park and has become one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks since its unveiling in 2004.
The highly polished surface of The Bean (made of over 160 stainless steel plates) reflects the Chicago skyline, making this the perfect spot to have a mini photoshoot.
The artist behind The Bean, Anish Kapoor, took inspiration from liquid mercury while designing this unique art piece which features a central arch that visitors can walk through to surround themselves with mirrored images.
The Bean is a great place to let your creativity fly free by experimenting with angles and perspectives—make sure to visit right after dawn when most people are still sleeping.
You’ll be treated to a beautiful reflection of downtown Chicago in the early morning light and (my favorite) no tourists!
Address: 201 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60602, linked here on Google Maps.
2. Crown Fountain
After visiting The Bean, I suggest taking photos at Crown Fountain, right around the corner.
This interactive fountain is located in Chicago’s Millennium Park and features a reflection pool with two 50-foot glass towers at either end that project images of 1,000 local Chicagoans.
From mid-spring to mid-fall, the projections have a feature where a spout of water flows from the mouth portion of the images, giving the illusion they’re spitting into the pool!
When the weather is nice, this Chicago Instagram spot becomes an excellent place for people-watching, and you can capture unique shots of people interacting with mirrored reflections in the pool.
Address: 201 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60602, linked here on Google Maps.
3. 360 Chicago Observation Deck
Ready to take your Instagram game to the next level (literally)? Head over to 360 Chicago Observation Deck, located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center.
This is def one of the most Instagrammable places in Chicago because you’ll be able to take beautiful panoramic shots of the downtown skyline and Lake Michigan from over 1,300 feet in the sky.
It’s best to visit the observation deck during golden hour when the lighting will be perfect for your Instagram photos. There’s also a selfie station where you can snap the perfect shot, so don’t worry about bringing a tripod.
On a clear day, you can see up to four states from 360 Chicago Observation Deck—Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
I recommend purchasing a Skip-the-Line ticket on GetYourGuide so you can head straight to the observation deck to start snapping pics!
Address: 875 N Michigan Ave, 94th Floor, Chicago, IL 60611, linked here on Google Maps.
4. Greetings From Chicago Mural
The vibrant and whimsical Greetings From Chicago mural is an ideal spot for photographers, regardless of experience level.
Located in Logan Square underneath elevated train tracks, this postcard-inspired mural features a colorful art-deco style that instantly adds an eye-catching pop to your Instagram.
The details in each letter of the mural represent a unique facet of the city’s history and culture, from must-try famous Chicago food to the Cubs and a reference to the ’80s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
The Greetings From Chicago mural is a popular photo spot, so I recommend visiting it!
Address: 2226 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60647, linked here on Google Maps.
5. Chicago Theatre
Look no further than the historic Chicago Theatre for the perfect photo backdrop to capture those big-city vibes.
This is one of the most iconic Instagram spots in the Windy City, thanks to its vibrant neon marquee and timelessly elegant architecture.
To get the best shot in front of Chicago Theatre, avoid peak hours between 12 am and 2 pm—traffic gets crazy, and dodging cars while still looking fabulous is way more challenging than it seems!
Address: 175 N State St, Chicago, IL, 60601, linked here on Google Maps.
6. Skydeck Chicago
The Willis Tower (once the tallest building in the world) is an iconic Chicago landmark, and the tower’s Skydeck provides the perfect opportunity to snap some exhilarating photos.
Skydeck Chicago is situated on the 103rd floor of this famous tower and provides breathtaking views of downtown and Lake Michigan that your Insta followers will love.
For a thrilling photo op, try The Ledge, a series of glass boxes that extend over the side of the building—the view of the streets below will make your heart pump, but the pictures make the experience worth it!

7. North Avenue Beach
North Avenue Beach is one of the best Instagrammable places in Chicago to capture summer-inspired photos.
This is one of the city’s most popular outdoor areas, offering fantastic skyline views and Lake Michigan.
Locals and tourists flock to this urban oasis every summer to swim, run, bike, skate, and stroll.
Plan your visit to North Avenue Beach around sunset to capture those stunning orange and pink hues that will make your Insta pics come alive!
Address: 1600 N Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60613, linked here on Google Maps.
8. Buckingham Fountain
From its impressive size to its majestic seasonal shows, the Clarence F. Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Grant Park is a beautiful Chicago spot that should be on any photographer’s can’t-miss list.
Buckingham Fountain was installed in 1927 and is one of the world’s largest fountains, with a capacity of 1.5 million gallons of water!
Visit the three-tier fountain between early May to mid-October to watch the magical light and water display that runs for 20 minutes every hour from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm.
Address: 301 S Columbus Dr, Chicago, IL 60605, linked here on Google Maps.
9. WNDR Museum
WNDR Museum is a fun and interactive museum in the West Loop neighborhood that’s undoubtedly one of the most Instagrammable places in Chicago.
With its unique installations, thought-provoking art displays, and endless photo opportunities, WNDR Museum has become an Instagrammable playground for adults.
My favorite part of WNDR is the room of disco balls, where you’ll find yourself in a sparkling, mirrored wonderland—perfect for all your creative Instagram posts!
Address: 1130 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60607, linked here on Google Maps.
10. DuSable Bridge, aka Michigan Avenue Bridge
The iconic Michigan Avenue Bridge (officially DuSable Bridge) is a must-see Instagram spot in Chicago.
Spanning across the Chicago River, the breathtaking views from this bridge will have all your photos looking fierce.
DuSable Bridge—a bascule bridge that lifts upward to allow boat traffic—was built in 1920 and has become a staple of Chicago’s architecture scene.
The views from DuSable Bridge are striking and will make your Chicago photos stand out from the rest.

11. Chicago Athletic Association Hotel
Who doesn’t love a good rooftop shot for Insta? Cindy’s Rooftop at the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is the perfect place to snap some gorgeous pics.
The Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is situated in a Venetian Gothic building that once housed an exclusive game club and has since been transformed into a picturesque hotel.
The hotel’s luxurious lobby is a gorgeous backdrop for photos, especially when the chandelier is sparkling at night.

Garfield Park Conservatory is a picturesque spot providing excellent photo opportunities all year.
In the summer, you can explore 10 acres of beautifully landscaped outdoor gardens featuring plants from various environments.

As one of the largest conservatories in the country, Garfield Park has a lot to offer, no matter what vibe you’re going for in your Instagram pics.
The Palm House is an exceptionally gorgeous area with lush palm species towering almost 65 feet into the air!
Address: 300 N Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60624, linked here on Google Maps.
14. LondonHouse Rooftop
The chic rooftop of the LondonHouse Hotel is one of the hottest Instagrammable places in Chicago.
The rooftop is located on the 22nd floor of LondonHouse, a luxury downtown hotel, and offers sweeping views of the city and the iconic buildings that make up its skyline.
The hotel is housed in a 1923 building that now offers some of the swankiest accommodations in Chicago.
Stop by for an indulgent sit-down dinner of truffle fries and steak or enjoy one of their signature cocktails as a nightcap—the espresso martini is calling my name but “S’Pear Me the Drama” also caught my eye!
Address: 85 E Wacker Dr, Chicago, IL 60601, linked here on Google Maps.
15. Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo
Influencers and photographers have been “buzzing” about the spectacular Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo and for good reason!
The boardwalk surrounds a pond rich with plant and animal life, but the main attraction is the unique architecture of the boardwalk’s pavilion.
The honeycomb-shaped structure provides a stunning backdrop to capture city skyline shots since the open-air design naturally frames downtown Chicago.

You’ll feel like a movie star as you dine on the cafe’s exquisite brunch or enjoy a rich buttery lobster roll for lunch—don’t forget to make reservations!

18. The Hampton Social
My last pick for the top Instagrammable places in Chicago is The Hampton Social, an adorable restaurant in Chicago’s River North neighborhood.
The Hampton Social’s flagship location boasts perfectly themed ocean decor, and its lunch, brunch, and drinks menus are impressive.
From the open-air seating to the spectacular raw oyster bar, snapping some photos at The Hampton Social will add a touch of glamour to your Instagram feed—plus, the restaurant’s “rose all day” neon sign has Instagram written all over it!
