Sharing the best wine bars in NYC today and it’s making me thirsty! 😉

If you’re planning your next trip to New York City, you have to check out the wine bar scene. I love visiting new wine bars in whatever city I’m in and New York has some of the best spots.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how much I love wine. I did move to Napa, which is pretty much the wine capital of California.

New York is such a hub for everything and of course, I’m not surprised there are so many aesthetic and delicious wine bars. There’s nothing chicer than spending your evenings at a wine bar with the girls.

So, I’m super excited to be sharing my list of the best wine bars in New York. There are so many around the city to explore—enjoy!

1. La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels

This is the perfect spot if you happen to be in Lower Manhattan. Enjoy sipping on their French heavy wine list—cheers.

From the moment you walk in, you’ll notice the rustic-chic aesthetic. Everything is dimly lit with comfy chairs and couches to set the mood.

This would make for a pretty cute date night spot. Their food menu is incredible with French and Mediterranean-inspired small plates.

I would highly recommend trying their burrata—it’s made with truffle, chicory, and pistachio. They also make this super yummy wagyu cheesesteak éclair that has roasted garlic mayo and American cheese.

If you’re looking for some fun, they offer a mystery wine challenge. If you guess the mystery wine right, you get to win the bottle for free.

The customer service here is also phenomenal. All of the staff is so knowledgeable about the wine lists and can help give you the best recommendations.

2. Ruffian

Ruffian is a super cute wine bar located in the East Village. They have a huge selection to choose from with a specialty in natural wines.

You can either try wines by the glass or by the bottle. I love that they have a seasonal menu at Ruffian—it always keeps you wanting more.

They do serve small plates so if you’re someone with a bigger appetite, I highly recommend eating a little bit beforehand. But, you for sure have to try at least one of their dishes when you stop by.

The outdoor space is so charming. You could totally just sip on some wine all night long while people watching.

Everything is so beautifully crafted here. From the drinks to the decor to the food, you’ll be obsessed.

3. LaLou Wine Bar

Located in Brooklyn, LaLou Wine Bar is a must when you’re passing through. They primarily serve natural wines, but you can try a lot of their 150+ bottles list.

You’ll find a lot of natural wines from the famous France and Italy regions here.

I love that they offer dishes that are meant to be mixed and matched. So you can get everything here from a small bite to a full-on meal.

The interior here is everything, I still can’t get over the open kitchen. I’m obsessed with how chic and elegant the place is.

LaLou makes a cute birthday or celebration spot. They even have a backyard patio area to spend some time in.

4. Rhodora Wine Bar

Rhodora Wine Bar is another cool wine bar in Brooklyn. I’m a huge fan of their mission and emphasis on zero waste.

Apparently, nothing they use at Rhodora will end up in a landfill—how cool is that? You won’t find any single-use plastic in this bar.

You’ll find a lot of natural wines here that are from places like Austria, Germany, or Southeastern France. For food, you can enjoy small plates that are farm-to-table inspired—think lots of canned fish, cheese, and vegetables.

As soon as you walk into the space, you’re greeted with a super cute and rustic interior. Everything feels very homey and natural.

There’s plenty of seating, so come for celebrations or just a night out with friends. When it gets dark, the candles come on and it feels so romantic.

The staff here is also wonderful and so helpful. If you’re new to drinking natural wines—no need to worry—the staff are on it and give the best recs.

When you’re not feeling the natural wines, you can also opt for one of their cocktails—all of them sound so yummy. You’ll also find a lot of cheese, fish, and veggies here on their dinner menu.

6. Four Horsemen

The Four Horsemen is a restaurant and wine bar located in Brooklyn. If you’re a fan of LCD Soundsystem then you may know this spot since it’s owned by member James Murphy.

They have a huge selection of natural wines paired with a seasonal menu. They most likely won’t serve the same thing every day.

You definitely want to book reservations here ahead of time since it’s a smaller space. There are a few tables on the inside and some outside but not a lot.

The interior is decorated so aesthetically. It feels like a super cool Instagrammable spot to eat dinner and drink with your friends.

The staff here is also amazing and really know their stuff so definitely ask for recs.

7. Aldo Sohm Wine Bar

Aldo Sohm Wine Bar is another really fun spot to check out if you’re ever in Midtown. Everything in here is designed to feel like you’re in Aldo’s (the wine director) living room.

This is a cool space to be in, it almost feels like being in a museum because there’s art everywhere. It’s also special to have wine at Le Bernardin’s wine bar.

You’ll find a large selection of wines to choose from and the food is specifically made to compliment any wine they serve.

All their food is also meant to be shared so you’ll find a lot of small plate options. You can have lunch or dinner here—whatever you choose will be delicious.

8. Amélie Wine Bar

Amélie is a French-inspired wine bar located in West Village. They also have a few other locations so if you love it here you can visit again.

Everything has Euro-centric vibes from the decor to the lighting to the music it’s hard not to fall in love. You’ll also appreciate the prices here since everything is pretty reasonable, be sure to stop by during happy hours.

This spot definitely makes a really fun date night or girls’ night out. Everyone here is so friendly that you’ll feel so welcomed.

They have a huge wine selection and cocktail menu. For food, you can enjoy lots of French dishes and desserts.

9. Red Hook Winery

Last but not least, enjoy a tasting at Red Hook Winery in Brooklyn. They like to call themselves an urban winery that serves wines from the best vineyards in New York.

Their wines are produced from the grape to bottle at their winery on Pier 41. When you go to their tasting room, you can take in the views of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan across the sparkling East River.

It’s a super cute place to spend the day or even a nice romantic date. They’re also dog-friendly, so bring your pup to hang out and drink some wine.

To add a touch of luxury to your outing in NY, I recommend to choose a local car service; ISLIP Limo offers plenty of options for your trip whether traveling with family, friends or on your own and looking to have a fun night out. You won’t need to worry about finding parking spots, just sit back and let their highly trained chauffeurs do the work for you!

Those were all my favorite wine bars in NYC! There are so many more that I want to try around the city, so I guess I need to plan another trip to New York soon. I’m already thinking I need to plan a trip for spring so I can time my visit for when there are cherry blossoms in NYC!

If you end up hitting up any of these spots or have any more recs be sure to tag me on Insta @wtfab!
