NYC ~ Visiting the City of Dreams

Share this post or pin it for later!

My first business trip was a couple months ago. I was beyond excited, because not only was it my first business trip, but it was also my first time to New York! I extended my trip a couple days after all the biz was done so I could stay through the weekend and explore. I’m a Cali girl, and I don’t know many people on the east coast, so I set out to explore by myself, and had a blast.

A funny story from my trip: I had to leave my luggage at the hotel because I was early checking in and had to run to a meeting. When I came back to the hotel and went to grab my bags, I went to the storage area and gave the man working there my ticket stub. Another guy who was working there looked at me (with mild disgust) and the following convo ensued:

Man: California?
Me: Why…Yes! I’m from California.
Man (with now very apparent disgust): Ask me how I knew.
Me: …How did you know?
Man: Your attitude

At this point I’m both intrigued and embarrassed. Was I rude when I handed the other guy my ticket? Do I sound like a Valley Girl? How embarrassing. I’m feeling bad and slightly confused and want to know wtf he means, so I continue the convo:

Me: What do you mean my “attitude?”
Man: You just came in here all…happy and stuff.

I couldn’t help but laugh. It was SO New York! I flashed him a sly smile and ended the convo by asking him, “What’s not to be happy about??” and running along with my bags.

Enjoy the pics!
