Finally sharing some photos from our vacation in Sedona last month! The trip was just the relaxing recharge we needed, and the scenery is just other-worldly. We spent our mornings eating breakfast on our balcony and soaking up the views. Then we’d squeeze in some pool/relaxation time before going out to explore Sedona and hike. Evenings consisted of dining al fresco and enjoying Sedona’s “energy vortexes,” which also happen to be the most beautiful spots.
The first day we stopped for lunch at Little Miss BBQ, which is hands down the best BBQ I’ve ever had! If you’re ever flying into Phoenix, you have to eat here. We drove into Sedona and made it just in time to watch the sunset from the Airport Knoll (another energy vortex with 360 degree views of Sedona). In the photo above you can see Coffee Pot Rock—see it there on the right? We watched what was probably one of the most amazing sunsets I’ve ever seen, and took so many photos it was hard to narrow down the ones to post here.

The next day we hiked Cathedral Rock, which ended up being our toughest hike of the trip. While it’s not a lengthy hike in terms of mileage, it’s pretty much a scramble up some super steep rocks. The climb was absolutely worth it though, and the views were our favorite of the trip. If you’re going to do this hike, wear your hiking boots and bring lots of water! And follow the trail markers so you don’t get lost and stranded on a cliff.

If you go to Sedona and don’t eat at The Enchantment, you’re doing it wrong. They have two restaurants, a fancy one (Che-Ah-Chi) and a more reasonably-priced one (Tii Gavo). The food at Tii Gavo is great and the views are stunning, and we loved it so much we ate there two nights in a row. If you go get the stuffed grilled jalapeño!

Bell Rock was a flatter hike that I’d also recommend. There are some places where you do have to climb a bit, but for the most part it was a lot easier than Cathedral Rock. We brought a picnic to enjoy in the shade at the top.
[above] We hiked up to Devil’s Bridge…and quickly scrambled off because I was a little nervous it was going to fall while we were standing on it. [below] Cruising around Sedona with my handsome fiancé.
We also went to Slide Rock Park, an area where the river has created natural, smooth “rock slides.” They’re pretty fun to slip and slide through, but the water is freezing!
