Bonjour, Wednesday! We just got back from our honeymoon yesterday afternoon and although we’re a bit jet-lagged and missing France, we’re happy to be home. It’s been almost a month since we left for our wedding (sharing pics soon!), and I’m excited to get back into a normal routine with my new husband that doesn’t involve spending every free, waking minute planning our wedding. We’re really looking forward to just spending time enjoying the beautiful San Francisco Indian summer. 🙂
Funny little story about this beautiful coat from Zara. I did not pack appropriately for Paris. We basically experienced every season while we were there. Mornings were bright and cheery like spring, afternoons in the sun were summery and warm, evenings were fall-like and crisp, and by night time it was windy and chilly and felt like winter. I packed for the former two seasons, and threw some tights and light jackets into my suitcase thinking that should cover it. By the second night I realized I was going to freeze my ass off if I didn’t buy a proper coat.
I saw this black coat in the window of one of the many Zaras along the Champs-Élysées. The line in the store was long and we were in a hurry to get to the Seine to catch the sunset, but my skin was covered in goosebumps (and I was in love with this coat), and Omied made me a compromise. He’d gladly stand in line and wait with me if I promised to wear the giant furred hood over my head the whole time we walked to the Seine. As evidenced by this picture, the hood on this coat is a bit out of control, and Omied called me his little black bear the whole way. We were cracking ourselves up, while passer-by probably wondered why this man was taunting such a vicious animal. 😉
Anyways, we made it to the sunset, I got a lot of use out of this coat during our honeymoon, and I can’t wait to wear it this winter in SF! A happy ending. 🙂
