Today I’m sharing my go-to makeup look this fall for a night out. Whether it’s a date night with my hubby or my girlfriends, these are the products I keep reaching for and the earthy neutrals I’ve been incorporating into my beauty looks. And to make things super simple for you, I’ve linked to all of the products, which you can find at Nordstrom.
I start this makeup look with MAC Prep + Prime to matte any excess shine on my face. Then, I apply a layer Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation over my face and neck. If I have some blemishes that need some extra love, I’ll dab on a second layer to cover them. This is my absolute favorite foundation and I’ve been using it for years, pretty much every day. I love that it provides great coverage and that you can layer on more if needed, but no matter what it never feels heavy or caked on. I flip-flop between a couple different shades depending on the time of year and how tan I am, so occasionally I will pop in to get color-matched at Nordstrom to make sure I’m still wearing the right shade.
Now is when the fun face sculpting happens! I use Nars Bronzing Powder to contour under my cheeks, and add Clinique “Sun-Kissed Face Gelee” bronzer, MAC Blush and Highlighter. A little brush of MAC Finishing Powder sets everything in place.
For this look, I like to play up the eyes with earthy neutrals, strikingly long lashes, and bold brows to frame the face. To achieve this look, I start with Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer over my eyelids so that my eye makeup doesn’t stray. I then use MAC Eye Shadow to make my eyes pop. I use a warm, bronzy brown called One to Watch over the entire eye lid. Then I use a shimmery brown called Woodwinked (which seriously looks good on everybody) on my eye crease and fanned out a bit to the outer corners of my eyes. For eyeliner, I mix and match, using Laura Mercier in Smoke for the top liner, and MAC Buried Treasure for the bottom, inner eyeliner.
I love having long, thick lashes, so I get extra volume in three steps: First, I curl them with an eyelash curler. Then, I add a couple coats of Urban Decay’s Subversion Lash Primer. And lastly, I apply two coats of my favorite mascara, MAC Haute & Naughty. And if you would like to have healthy and dense lashes eyelash growth serums are the best way to promote long and thicker eyelashes.
A MAC makeup artist taught me that you can easily use non-shimmery, earthy eye shadow as brow liner by using a damp brow brush. For my brows, I’m using the shade Coquette.
And finally, I do my lips! For this look I think a dark lip would throw it off a bit, so I opt for more of a dusty rose. First, I use MAC Prep + Prime Lip. Then, I layer two MAC lipsticks in Kinda Sexy and Freckletone. And that puts the finishing touches on my date night beauty look!
