You guys. I am so stoked to share with you a really incredible, local San Francisco brand that I’ve recently been introduced to. And if you’re Asian, this is going to be a game changer for you. You can thank me later.

Topology Eyewear is a custom-fit eyewear company that utilizes their augmented reality app to scan 2,000 points on your face, and uses this data to create glasses that perfectly fit your face. After your measurements have been scanned, you design your glasses in the app by choosing the style of frames and the color and type of lenses you want. You’re then mailed a prototype of your glasses so you can try them on and make sure they are 100% right in terms of fit and what you’re looking for. When I received my prototype, I decided the size of the lenses were a little bit too small, so we bumped up the sizing a bit. But even with just the prototype, I could tell that the fit was going to be amazing.

I received my Topology sunglasses shortly after, and I absolutely love them. I legit cannot believe how light they feel on my nose. Being half Japanese, I have a small nose (my dad’s friend used to call me “button nose” when I was a little kid, and it made me really mad back then because I didn’t get that he meant my nose was little and cute), and sunglasses always slip right off my nose, due to the fact that usual eyewear offerings in the U.S. are made for a caucasian face, and not with my small nose in mind. I’ve pretty much taken to mostly wearing aviator-style sunglasses because I can adjust and pinch together the nose frames to make them tight around my nose so that they stay put (versus acrylic frame glasses that literally slip right off my nose). But what I didn’t realize (or perhaps just accepted) was just how much pressure this was putting on my nose. Once I got my sunglasses from Topology and saw how they were light as a feather, perfectly sat on my nose, and gracefully sat just above my cheeks, I was so, so happy. Plus how cute are these pink frames with brown fade lenses?

And while Topology Eyewear is an absolute dream for my Asian friends, it really is for anyone who wants perfectly-fitting glasses that you’re just not going to get at most retailers that produce stock glasses by the tens of thousands. Next up, I really want a pair of their computer filter/blue light blocking glasses! I have a pair that I try to wear (since I’m constantly blogging late at night), but they’re pretty annoying because they usually slip down my face and I have to keep readjusting them, which means I’m bad about consistently wearing them. I can’t even imagine how frustrating it would be to have to wear prescription glasses all the time and having to adjust them all the time—Topology would be a must-have, not a nice-to-have!

Be sure to check out Topology Eyewear and download their app so you can scan your face and start creating your own custom-fit glasses! You can use the code WTFAB for a 10% discount.
