I know at this point, it’s highly unoriginal for me to say that one of my New Year’s Resolutions is to be more fit. But last year, one of my resolutions was to work out more, and that one actually stuck because my goal was to take advantage of Google’s workout classes, and to aim for attending at least three classes a week. At the end of 2014, I’m happy to say that most weeks, I actually achieved that goal. And this year I’m even more motivated to keep up and improve my fitness and health routine, because we’re getting married in exactly eight months! Here are a few pretty things I’m picking up this New Year to keep my workouts fun and keep me smiling while I’m sweating for the wedding…
Workout Tank // Headband // Nike Frees // Adidas Capris // Tory Burch for FitBit Bracelet // BKR Water Bottle
While I think I’ve got my fitness routine pretty lined out, I’ve heard numerous fitness gurus say that your weight is 80% affected by what you eat, and 20% by your workouts and genes. Which means I’ll need to make some changes to my eating habits this year, if my goal is to slim down for the gown (can you tell I’ve been trolling etsy for cheesy bride workout tanks??). I’ve found that having clear goals is a lot more helpful than just telling myself to “eat healthy,” so I’m making it a goal to stay away from carbs and refined sugars as much as possible, and to incorporate lower-cal options into my meals when I can. One easy way that I’m doing this is by adding Progresso™ Light into my meals as a low-cal option, since there are 40 different flavors to choose from, at 100 calories less per serving. While I love soups like corn chowder and French onion, I’ll be reaching for the lightened up versions this year to help me stay on track.
The New Year is helping me get motivated to look and feel my best for our wedding and beyond. What are some tricks you like to use to keep motivated?
