Happy June everyone! Today’s post features a couple of “new beginnings.” First, we experimented with a new camera lens for this shoot. We’ve had this new lens for months and just haven’t taken the time to get it out and play with it, and have opted for our broken-in (and comfortable for us) standard lens. After trying it out this weekend, I was pretty mad at myself for not giving it a shot earlier, because I really liked the difference in depth of field and lighting the new lens brought compared to the old one we’d been using. The second new beginning is this vintage dress. Straight from my soon-to-be 99 year old grandmother’s closet, this little dress has been sitting in my own closet for a good half a year. Yet another item that I waited far too long to give a shot (perhaps because I thought it looked too vintage on the hanger?). After I wore it out and was showered with ridiculous amounts of compliments from my coworkers, I was again mad at myself for not trying it earlier!
So, in line with Nair’s summer theme of revealing your best self, I’m vowing to give new things a try this summer, particularly those that have to do with my style and blog that I may have been trading for the more comfortable, or easier options. Hard to believe, but this ol’ blog of mine turns 2 years old this month. My style, voice, and whole approach to blogging have changed a lot since then, but I want to continue to evolve, which will only happen if I push myself outside of my comfort zone and try new things. Another thing I’m trying this summer? Nair’s new Moroccan Argan Oil Sprays Away No Touch Spray. But I promise this time around it won’t take me so long to try! Because who doesn’t love radiant, smooth legs in the blink of an eye? So I wanna know, where are your legs taking you this summer?
