I’ve been posting a lot about Equilibria over on my IG, so I thought it was time I share an in-depth Equilibria review on the blog! I’ve been taking Equilibria CBD consistently every day for over a month, and it is honestly my new favorite thing and I’m so grateful to have discovered it and to be incorporating it into my life!
Ok so first of all, I don’t typically have bad anxiety, but 2020 has obviously not been a typical year. I would say that during normal times, I would feel anxious or stressed about work and just the general overwhelm that having a ton of deadlines piling up can bring. But this year, I’ve definitely experienced a new kind of anxiety that I’ve never had to deal with before.
Just the weight of the world right now can leave me feeling sad, stressed, and anxious. Add on to that stress from feeling a bit cooped up, not seeing my family, and running my business, and this year has just been a lot. I know that others are dealing with all of this and much more this year, which is why anything that can help us have more calm and peace in our lives is totally welcome and so important.
So before we get into my Equilibria review, let’s start with the basics—What is CBD? If you’re a newbie to CBD I totally get that it can be overwhelming and kinda confusing because that’s how I felt before learning more about it and getting into a really comfortable CBD routine (thanks to my Equilibria dosage specialist—more on that as we get into my Equilibria review later!). I wondered things like, How does CBD work? Will it get me high? Will it make me groggy? How is it legal? Is there scientific CBD research that shows CBD actually does anything?
I feel like these are probably v frequently asked questions when it comes to CBD products, so to answer them, here are some quick notes based on my call with my dosage specialist, as well as Equilibria’s blog which has so many helpful articles on it!
What is CBD?
CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is one of over 150 naturally-occurring compounds (aka “cannabinoids”) found in hemp flowers. This plant is bred and grown in two different ways:
- “Industrial hemp” with less than 0.3% THC content.
- “Marijuana” with up to 30% THC content. THC is the psychoactive part of cannabis, that when used in higher amounts causes the “high” effect.
Since Equilibria’s CBD has less than .3% THC content, it’s a federally legal crop in the U.S., and it’s not going to get you high. This also means that you don’t have to worry about any legal issues when it comes to traveling with Equilibria’s CBD in the United States (which is confirmed on the TSA’s website, here).
How does CBD work?
I found this really interesting, so to geek out on CBD real quick, Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that interact with receptors in our Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS plays a crucial role in regulating sleep, inflammation, mood, and overall homeostasis and balance.
Our bodies naturally produce cannabinoids called endocannabinoids. The cannabinoids from CBD just enhance our ability to make more of our own endocannabinoid!
Alrighty so now that we have a more general understanding about CBD and how it works, let’s get into my Equilibria review and why I’m so into this particular brand!
First and foremost, Equilibria products’ quality is on point. Equilibria’s CBD comes from an organic farm in Colorado, and their products are lab-tested with results transparently shared on their website. Equilibria products have 3 – 4 times the cannabinoids found in other over-the-counter CBD products (making Equilibria products more effective), and often their products are more robust in cannabinoid than CBD products at cannabis dispensaries!
All of their CBD products are full-spectrum CBD. There are 140 cannabinoids available from the Cannabis Sative plant, including CBN, CBG, CBC, CBDa, THC, and THCv, which are all found in Equilibria’s full-spectrum products, making them more effective.
One of the most unique things that Equilibria offers is access to a personal dosage specialist when you purchase any of their products! You can set up a complimentary phone call and get all of your CBD questions answered by an expert! Your dosage specialist will also ask you some questions to get to know you and help you determine a personalized daily routine. They will then check back in with you to see how your routine is going, what results you’re seeing, and they’ll even set up an additional phone call with you if you feel like you want to tweak anything or have any other questions.
My phone call with a dosage specialist was a game-changer. I learned SO much about CBD and how to properly use it (guess what, I wasn’t taking it correctly before) and my specialist helped me determine a daily routine that has been doing wonders for me.
By chatting with my dosage specialist, I learned some key things like:
– It’s physically impossible to OD on CBD—at the most if you keep taking drops because you’re “not feeling anything” you might take too much and feel a little groggy.
– You can take CBD drops on an empty stomach. Because you let the CBD absorb under your tongue and you’re not ingesting it, it’s absorbed directly into your bloodstream. This was v helpful for me to know because I do intermittent fasting and I don’t eat in the mornings.
– You don’t build up a tolerance to CBD, so once you’ve found a routine that works for you, you can stick with it.
– CBD needs to be taken consistently, on a daily basis, as it has a cumulative effect. It works best in a routine, rather than taking it intermittently or in a reactionary way, like oh I feel stressed I’m going to take some CBD now. Which was how I previously had been taking CBD—kinda sporadically and when I was feeling stressed.
These learnings were SO helpful and I can’t recommend taking advantage of the consultation call with a dosage specialist enough! Even though I had dabbled in trying CBD products before, the call with the dosage specialist helped me feel so much more comfortable about CBD and confident in my routine.
For example, before my call, I had always felt intimidated by CBD drops. I didn’t really understand how to take them or how much to take. My dosage specialist explained how to administer them (use the dropper under your tongue and let the oil absorb for 60 seconds—you’ll swallow some after that which is totally fine), and recommended I start with half a dropper in the morning and another half in the afternoon.
My Daily Routine
My daily routine that I’ve been on is:
First thing in the morning: Half a dropper of the Daily Drops
Afternoon: Half a dropper of the Daily Drops
Evening, with dinner: One softgel.
This routine has been working SO well for me. My dosage specialist explained to me that the daily drops are more fast-acting, because they are quickly absorbed into your bloodstream. The onset from the daily drops is 10 – 30 minutes, with effects lasting around four hours. The daily softgels are more slow-release, with an onset of 1 – 3 hours, releasing for up to 8 hours, which makes them perfect for use at night to help you sleep better throughout the night.
Equilibria CBD Results
I seriously could not be happier with the results that I’ve seen from taking Equilibria CBD products! Here’s what I’m noticing:
One of the immediate things I noticed was that taking the soft gels at night has been helping me sleep so much better. I usually wake up once or twice a night and I might reposition myself or get up to pee. When I take the softgels, I sleep through the night.
I also wake up feeling so much more well-rested, which has been amazing! Anyone who knows me knows that I am not a morning person. I’m a chronic snooze-alarm pusher and am usually very groggy in the mornings and it can take me 30 – 60 minutes to wake up and get out of bed. Since I’ve been taking Equilibria CBD and getting much more restful sleep, I’m finding it so much easier to wake up on time in the mornings, and I frequently wake up before my alarm clock goes off! This is unheard of for me—ask my husband. The other morning I was awake before him (also unheard of) and as he woke up I started chatting with him and he just gave me this side-eye and was like, “You’re looking spritely this morning.” 🤣Hilarious. But also a true testament to how well these softgels work for me!
I think that this one is tied to my ability to sleep better, but I notice that my energy levels throughout the day are much more even. Previously, I was pretty prone to a steep energy crash in the late afternoon. I’ve noticed that since I’ve been taking Equilibria CBD, this has evened out and I have less of these energy crashes. And if I do, it’s much less severe than before and I might feel a little tired in the late afternoon, vs before I would feel like I was just dying for a nap and could barely keep my eyes open.
Another gamechanger. I can tell that taking Equilibria CBD really evens me out and helps me be more even-keeled when taking on daily stressors. I just feel very content and when things come up, as they inevitably do, while they might be stressful I feel less upset by them as I normally would.
I asked Omied if he’s noticed a difference in my mood since I started taking Equilibria and he said, “Yes, definitely. You have less…fits.” 😂 Which I was like ok RUDE, but also, I know exactly what he means. I can be very particular (lol, who can relate?) so when someone does something that I think is out of line, disrespectful, or throws off my schedule, I can end up ranting about it/them. As I mentioned, Equilibria has helped me meet these stressors with a more moderate response and it’s more like, ok, that’s annoying, but how do I fix it and move on?
So I mentioned that I take the daily drops and the softgels (both regular strength) and I highly recommend both of them as they work slightly differently.
For the Daily Drops, I’ve tried both the regular drops and one of the seasonal flavored drops. The regular drops have an herbal taste to them, as you might expect, but it’s not strong or unpleasant. I definitely enjoy the taste of the flavored drops better. I’ve been using the Cranberry Elderflower and am thinking I’ll try the Mint flavored drops next.
I also am really loving the Equilibria Relief Cream, which is a full-spectrum CBD salve. It’s great for aches, pains, and cramps, and it absorbs into the skin without entering the bloodstream. The Relief Cream is super nourishing and has activated full-spectrum hemp flower oil, coconut oil, and shea butter, so it helps to relieve muscle tension while also being very hydrating. I like to use it on my lower back since I tend to get really tight muscles there, as well as on my forearms and wrists since those can get sore from all the typing (and selfie videos, lol).
These are currently out of stock but hopefully will be back soon, but I’ve been LOVING some of their other self-care treats like the bath bombs, mineral soak, and rollers. They are so perfect for unwinding and de-stressing in the evening!

I think everyone can benefit from CBD, and whether we’re in a panny or not, I plan on continuing to use it since it helps my sleep, stress-management, and mood so much.
