Whenever I’m packing my bags, no matter where I’m going, you can always count on there being at least one pair of Tieks flats in my luggage (but usually two or three, because you know…a girl’s gotta have options!).
When I worked at an office, I wore Tieks almost every day because they’re stylish but comfortable for a commute that was mostly walking and then standing on BART.
These days I work from home (so you’ll usually find me in slippers at work), but my Tieks still get lots of wear because they’re also my go-to’s for when I’m traveling, whether I’m in the U.S. or abroad.
Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite Tieks travel photos, from Chicago to Taipei to Rome! As well as a few reasons why I’m such a fan of Tieks.

I even wore the Silver Screen Tieks as the flats that I changed into at my wedding when we went to the after-party. So Tieks definitely have a special place in my heart!
I realized that because I’m always packing a pair of Tieks (or three) with me, I’ve shot some pretty awesome photos of these flats all over the world over the years.

Traveling with my Tieks
Rome
Recently while in Rome, I wore my Tieks all day while hunting for the perfect gelato, riding bikes around the city, and exploring the Colosseum.

I love traveling with Tieks flats because they fold up so easily and take up very little space in my suitcase, and they’re comfortable enough to walk around all day in.
Chicago
While I was in Chicago, I wore my Metallic Bronze Tieks to the Skydeck at Willis Tower. They add the perfect pop of color to my outfit and they didn’t take up too much space in my luggage.
Taipei
Catch me in my Moonstruck Tieks while exploring Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial in Taipei! I love love the iridescent color on these flats.
They add such a fun style and color to any outfit. And they’re so quick and easy to put on.
Milan
Once again wearing my Starstruck Tieks while I was climbing the Duomo in Milan. I put on one of my favorite dresses and loved that my Tieks brought some more pop to my outfit.
Scottsdale
When I traveled to Scottsdale, I was wearing my Starstruck Tieks almost every day with every outfit. Can you tell I’m obsessed?
Tokyo
While I was in Harajuku in Tokyo, I threw on my other favorite pair of Tieks in Moonstruck to my outfit. My sister loved them so much on me she also got a pair!
Portland
I went to Portland for a bachelorette party and brought along my Nude Black Lace Tieks for a more fun look. Here I’m wearing them at the Japanese Botanical Garden in Portland.
I love that this pair has a pattern to it to give a more accessory-type feel to the outfit.
Maui
Here’s another travel destination I traveled to with my Nude Lace Tieks! I wore them while on a helicopter ride touring Maui.

I have my eyes on a few more pairs like leopard print, chocolate brown, mustard yellow, California navy, ballerina pink, metallic pewter, rose gold glam, sienna brown croc, slate grey croc, and cardinal red. I know it’s a lot, but you can never have too many colors.

FAQs
Tieks shoes can be on the pricey side for flats, but they are very well-made from Italian leather and will last you a long time. I have Tieks that I’ve been wearing for years that still look great. So I would say they are worth the price!
Since Tieks are made of leather, they can definitely get a little smelly if you don’t wear socks with them. I wear these ultra low-cut no-show socks, so that you can’t see them when I’m wearing my Tieks.
Tieks are flat and they do not have arch support.

I agree they are great for travel. They are great for almost anything. Like you I have done lots of walking in them both at home and when I travel. They are the only shoes I wear. I love the variety of colors. I think that is what got me hooked. I also like the fact that they have the larger sizes up to 13. I am a size 11. I like that more guys are discovering the comfort and style of these great flats.
