So for the first time in literal years, I missed one of my monthly Insta recap posts. I forgot to do January’s Insta post, and then February ended up being one of the hardest months ever when Omied’s dad passed away. So I’m just going to combine both months into today’s post and call it good. You can find me on Insta, @wtfab.
Obviously my biggest news from January was…I quit my job at Google to do What The Fab full time! I wrote a post all about it here.
I took your guys’ feedback seriously and I started doing more #RealTalk posts on my ‘gram. I kicked off with this one about body-shaming comments I’ve received from men on the internet, and then followed up with this one about my perspective on therapy. I’ve been absolutely loving the real conversations that have been sparked from these posts (including a 7th grader emailing me to tell me my post inspired one of her essays about body image and social media ?) and I’m planning on sprinkling in more real talk posts on my feed.
Now that I’m working from home and not at Google’s gyms, I’m figuring out a new workout routine and it includes lots of Barry’s.
Delicious dinner at Plaj. They partnered with Veuve Cliquot to do a pairing and it was fabulous.
Breakfast in bed at the Four Seasons in Palo Alto.
Right after I left my job at Google, Omied and I spent a long weekend in beautiful Yosemite. Full post here.
I tried out Stitch Fix for the first time and my stylist absolutely nailed it!! I loved every piece they sent me. Here’s a link for $25 off your first box.
Really appreciating Ariana Grande for bringing this hairstyle back, and Noir Lash Lounge for keeping my lashes fluffy.
Shared another Real Talk post, and this one’s all about lessons learned from last year when not one, but TWO men in the C-Suite of their companies tried to screw me out of my money. Read about it here.
Omied’s dad passed away earlier this month. We miss him so much, but are grateful that he is at peace after two years of battling cancer. Omied and I were talking about some of the things we learned from this experience in terms of how to best support a friend who is going through grief, and some of it we might not have known before. He encouraged me to share some of those learnings in this post.
