It’s finally starting to feel like the holidays around here—I’ve succumbed to letting Omied play Christmas music at home (something I usually like to reserve for after Thanksgiving), and peppermint creamer has been gracing our coffee as of late. As we start to think about holiday gift giving, I wanted to share an awesome partnership between Target + TOMS. You know TOMS as the company that gives one pair of shoes to someone in need when you buy yourself a pair. I had the opportunity to meet the founder, Blake (I know, I thought his name would be Tom too, but the brand’s name is actually derived from the word “tomorrow”—a nod to their original concept, “Shoes for Tomorrow Project”), at a fashion show at UCLA early on when TOMS had only been around for a year or two. It’s been awesome to watch TOMS over the years grow into a household name, and one of the most socially conscious brands I can think of.
Launching today, the #TOMSforTarget collection’s “one-for-one” model is perfect for the holiday season. When you purchase a gift from the collection, another gift will be made to a person in need, including a donation of one blanket via American Red Cross, one week of meals via Feeding America, or one pair of shoes via TOMS. How beautiful is it to be able to buy a gift for a loved one, and know that someone else’s loved one is receiving a gift as well? Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the collection.
May your holiday season be merry and bright!
TOMS For Target: One-for-One. For All. Starting November 16th, for every Target+TOMS limited edition gift you buy, we’re (Target) giving shoes, a blanket or meals to those in need. #TOMSForTarget
