This is my good hair don’t care outfit from earlier this week. I’ve been sick for a week now and let me tell you, I am Over. It. What started as a really bad cold turned into me completely losing my voice. When I tried to speak it would come out as a whisper, which created an unintentional social experiment, where people would lower their voice to speak like me. It was a little funny to see how people would unintentionally match their volume to my pathetic little whisper. My coworkers were doing it, Omied did it, the Sprig delivery guy did it, and even my Uber driver did it.
My raspy voice and just general phlegm-tastic grossness sparked a conversation between me and Omied about what he would do if I turned into a zombie. I told him he would have to kill me, because I would attack him and try to eat him, and he would need to save himself. Zombie me would understand. But he said he wouldn’t have the heart to do it, so he would lock me in a closet and feed me raw meat, hopefully waiting for the day when a vaccine would be invented. That right there, people, is some romantic true love sh*t.
Ok, so on to this outfit. I had to run out for an errand one evening and it had been three days since I had changed out of my sweats and put real clothes on. So the thought of anything with zippers or buttons was a bit too much to bear. Fortunately I had recently added this incredibly soft and comfy sweater dress from Tobi to my closet. And just when I was feeling super duper not sexy because of all this cold business, this bare-backed number came out to play. And on this particular day, there was no way I was wearing anything but flats. I recently had the opportunity to meet FlipSlips’ founder, and hear from her about her passion for this shoe line that she’s created and the initial success of their Kickstarter campaign. I love that you can fold these bad boys up in your purse, and that the straps are double-sided with different colors, so you can keep your color coordination game strong.
As for the hair, guys, I really don’t know what to say. It’s like I felt inspired because I was putting on something that didn’t have a stretchy elastic waistband for the first time in a while, and I decided I was going to tease my hair and put some effort into one of those cute cotton candy bun situations, but then I just gave up halfway through. I guess that’s what happens when you shoot an outfit post high on cough medicine.
