To be honest, this dress felt a little too girly and frilly for me at first. But when I threw a white blazer on with it, I liked how the crisp, clean lines helped balance out all the ruffles and provided a nice contrast. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good ruffle! This dress just had a lot going on at first with the multiple pleats and frills. I also left the top two buttons undone to make it a little less prim, and I rolled up the sleeves of the blazer for a look that’s less Friday Casual and more Sunday Funday. Once it all came together, I ended up loving this look and wore it for a weekend trip to the de Young Museum to see the Oscar de la Renta exhibit.
Also can we give a shout out to the real MVP of this post, my third-day hair courtesy of Allie J? The new Hyatt Centric in SF had an event with Dry Bar to celebrate their partnership and opening, and Allie just killed it with the Mai Tai styling. I wish my hair could look like this every day. Can’t wait to go back and see her!
